Facedlifted Octy II Estate Spotted

Featured Replies

I find this hard to beleive, but I'm 90% certian I spotted the new "facelifted" Octy II Estate yesterday morning on the A64 by York.

On Road test with a car magazine perhaps, heading to the Moors?

Yesterdays autocar has a picture of the facelifted hatch looks like they have grafted superb headlights on it, no picture of the back though

If you only caught it out the corner of your eye it could have been a C-Class?!?

Facelift Octavia;)

There's a definate similarity about the front end.

Niall

It's only the front lights that have any similarity with the Merc, that asside and they're chalk and cheese to look at imo.

That pale blue doesn't do it any favours either but in general the revisions are growing on me despite my initial reservations.

Not to my taste yet, but you never know...

in my opinion the revised front and rear end, highlight the non modern look of the rest of the car, if you compare it to other manufacturers new kids on the block.

:iagree:

they both have lights, a grille, a badge etc etc etc

I was also parked next to a Merc that (to my eyes) seemed identically coloured to my Capuccino Beige Fabia.

lets wait and see what they can do to make it look and be more sportier i.e. vrs.

Just me, but I really don't like the new shape. The lights are opposite to the current model, headlights up/foglights down, and it just looks wrong. And I agree that somehow the shape looks... dated, but I can't put my finger on why?!

Keep thinking about the Lacettis or the Lianas they use on TopGear.Bit Rover-ish in feel, if you know what I mean??:worried:

I'm afraid I'm with you blackspaven, I'm Skoda's number one fan, but the facelift is a bit of a disappointment, and so is the Superb, as far as its aethetics go. I like the technogadgets, and I'm sure the build quality is excellent, but the designers need to up their game.

Even GM is getting its act together - check out the Insignia - similar sort of car, and some of the componants even look similar, but the overall look is much more integrated, sleek and modern to my eyes.

Looks alright, but that blue is nasty!

Looks un-wheeled too... but that may be the blue again!

A black B-Pillar might improve things. I agree the middle of that blue one looks wrong with the new front.

As I've said many times before, I love it!

Not sure how a vRS works out, but for the other spec levels its a massive improvement imho. :)

Ugly ugly ugly :( :)

IIRC Skoda haven't worked out a vRS spec yet for the facelift model; or have they?

To build on the improved spec of the other trim levels it will have to have; Bi-xenons, full leather, full bodykit, 18" wheels etc.

why? the vRS is not, never has been and never will be the top spec car, thats the L&K.

OMFG

I HATE THAT i am not a fan of the mk 2 look ne way but the facelift is even worse. i just wish the mk1 had the same build quality of the mk2

its the complete opposite to the Vauxhall Vectra, that looked crap to start with, but once it was facelifted, it looked great.

See I disagree; I have seen lots of pics of the new VX recently and the more I see the more I don't like the shape. Same as the new Mondano; it just looks too big and not right in rep-spec (i.e. the most common). I'm not really a fan of modern car styling of the last 2 years really.

I didn't like the look of the new superb in photos but saw one in the flesh today at a stealers and it looked spot on in the flesh and really good :)
