Anything can fit anything... with enough elbow-grease/shoe-horning ;)

well i come from a history of putting tuned 106gti engine in citroen ax's... and wanna look to the future... are the engine mounts in the same positions?

the two are very different though aren't they(pug/ax to RS4/octavia) as on one hand your fitting a transverse FWD engine and gearbox to a transverse FWD car where as from the RS4 to the octavia they are the otehr way round i think.

True... but same principles ie tfsi engine is in audi a4, which also house the rs4... it's only a thought...

Just put a big turbo on. :D

no the mounts are not in the same positions...

but thats not to say it cant be done, the older 4.2 v8 has been put in A3's in the past so there is no reason why it cant be done fi you have big pockets.

Yeah but thats working the other way around. Its easier fitting a smaller engine in a larger bay, not so easy the other way around. Plus the engine is pointing the wrong way, you aint gonna fit a 4.2 litre V8 transversly.

i cant see it neither.

i think that the mk1 vRS would be an awsome car with the 4.2V8 and 4x4 with a big fuel tank. role the arches the same as the rs4. and the seats.

why not just buy an RS4?

why not just buy an RS4?

Just too easy bengie :)

Wouldn`t that engine make such a small car very noise heavy ( unless mid or rear mounted ) and a bitch to drive ?

Well yeah, its makes an RS4 nose heavy...lol

Id rather have the whole RS4 tbh.

id rather have a mk1 1.8t Octy vRS but built in to a 4x4 shell with the front drive shafts removed and the diff altered to send it all to the back......

Will that set up take 500bhp.

You got a 4x4 then.

Is everything in line for a 2 piece prop.

I think the other problem apart from Sheer size, engine pointing wrong way, mounts in wrong place, is that the RS4 engine is mated to a 4WD system whereas the Octy is a FWD system.

It would be the ultimate sleeper though to have 414bhp in a Mk2 Octy . Especially if (as long as you could get the power and torque down) you were doing a Traffic Light Grand Prix against an M3

I would suppose it is possible but by the time you have finished throwing the Queen's Shilling at it you may aswell have just bought an RS4 in the first place.

the mk1 4x4 uses a 2 piece prop.

Bit pointless running a transverse arangement then...lol

Ya but there is a :gay: bit in the middle for people that cannot drive. :P

I was thinking more on the lines of a Longitudinal A4 set up.
