looking at a fabia VRS

Featured Replies

The other half and i are looking at trading her 54 plate clio in and getting a fabia VRS is there any thing we need to look out for? and at what time should cambelts and oil changes etc be done. Also will the 18s iv got on my mk1 octavia fit the fabia?

cheers Michael

Best think you can do mate is use the search. Loads and loads of info to be found on here, just a case of searching lol

Yea, use thet search to find any problems.....

Good car though, you will see a list of problems, but not all cars have them, I have had one for 72k and been very good!!

Cambelts are 60k or 4 years, whichever sooner.

Think cam belt mileage depends on your car year. My 05 is 80k iirc. Always 4 years tho.

60k or 4 years for all fabia VRS

Ah, don't know if it changed but on the back of my last service sheet it says 1.9 Litre and 1.4 Litre PD diesel engines from 08 / 2003 = 80,000 miles for Toothed belt change interval Fabia

Audi released a bulletin a little while ago :)

Aha. I realised they'd changed it to every 4 years, but didn't know about the mileage change. That was printed on my December 2007 service sheet.

cambelt 60k...oil 10k...18's will fit if et is 38-42 and 205-40-18 tyres

As above re cam belt etc. Make sure this is done as it is an expensive thing to carry out! The VRS is a great little car, power and performance for econemy are un riveld! A fair bit nicer than the clio IMO. Feels better built.

Check for leaking door seals as well, best to check the passenger and rear footwells.
