My new N95 8gb

Featured Replies

I just don't see the point in me having it. I like it because I thought it was pretty when Mr P got his and because it has a better camera than my old phone (apart from mine come out fuzzy because I can't hold it still when taking pics ). But I really havn't found time to read the instruction booklet on all the things it has to offer. Therefore I'm only doing the usual like texting, calling and taking pics.

I tried using the internet but it just wanted to ask me loads of questions I didn't know the answer to before I logged on, the same with going straight to ebay from the menu.

I'm glad it only cost me £26, or I would say I wasted my money.

I am well aware of the fact I need to make time to RTFM thanks, as I stated in my first post.

Tsk...good consumer electronics shouldn't require you to read the manual to use them - they should be pre-configured correctly and intuitative to use!

I completely agree with that Rob!!

And Pix, I too just use my phone for texting, calling and the odd photo, and therefore have no desire to buy something like an N95. It does however seem hard to find a nice stylish phone with a good camera that doesn't clean the house and need charging 3 times a day :(

I've always had Nokias because they have been so easy to get to know without having to trawl through everything. But then I've never had a phone like this before! I am determined to use it to it's full potential damn it!

It is a smartphone at the end of the day, its designed to have multiple functions, unlike most other phone its runs an Operating System so that it can be all things to all users. If you didnt want something this complicated why did you buy it? I like all the functions mine has, i may not use them all the time, but when they are needed they are there. It means that i wont have to buy another phone until this one dies as this is all i need.

As in you have to be smart to use it! :P

Lol, whatever you do...don't tell Emily!!

Pixi, some things you can do with it.

*Use it with the likes of bebo, facebook etc to post pics and blog

*Send/recieve email and open attatchments as there is a viewer for pics, pdf, doc and xls files

*Use the camera as a web cam (with further software)

*Use it as a skypephone (with a free app called Fring)

*Radio/mp3 player (IMO better quality than ipod)

*Podcasting, I set it to auto download radio1 podcats when in a wifi area

*As a satnav

Sure there is more

Don't tell me she paid full whack

I've been playing around with it a bit this evening, mainly with the internet. The only thing I wasn't sure on was which option to select when it asked me about connections, two of the options listed were contract internet and contract WAP. I can't remember the others. I pay a very small sum on top of my monthly contract for unlimited browsing, I don't know whether this figures in it but I chose contract internet.

I guess I need to carry on reading.

Not if Voda or Orange - they've blocked this.

If you use Gmail, get the gmail app. Yahoo has Yahoo go, which I use a lot.

Youtube, facebook, bebo and all the other main sites have their own apps.

If you have sky, then the anytime app is a must. Forever sending remote record requests home.

When you got your phone on contract the supplier should have sent you a text doofla to configure all the settings in your phone for this surely?

I've just rang Vodafone to ask them about the settings. It seems my phone is in need of the correct settings, so I have been sent an email with instructions. I've followed them to the latter and put in all the essential information. When it comes to the very last bit where something is meant to appear that I have put in, it isn't there! Ho hum

It's definetely not me, I've been through it twice to double check and it's still not happening. I can't believe something so trivial is putting me in a bad mood :o

I was told earlier that a text should come through but it could take up to two hours which is why the email document was sent. I have just done that on the website aswell though. Thanks. :)
