I have the superpro and have never had a problem with them. They are a completely different design to the powerflex equivalent and work well

Agreed. The SuperPro perform as well as the PowerFlex ones (if not slightly better) and their design ensures that they stay in place.

Powerflex are rubbish, had new ones fitted 3 times. I've now fitted Audi TT solid rubber bushes and they are a vast improvement.

What really annoys me is they have know about this problem for years and still continued to sell them.

i can also vouch for the audi tt ones, they are a massive impeovement on the standard (change monthly) bushes....

fanks 2 all think ill try super pro as im guesing they will be bit stiffer than the tt ones

i have the powerflex bushes on my car and I've no problems with them at all and done well over 20k with them in.

wat is the problem with the powerflex bushes? as i have them and need some diagnostic?

Anybody got a part No for the TT bushes please.

I'm guessing the problem with powerflex ones is they slip out of the wishbone on one side?

The pressed steel wishbones aren't handed and the non-symetrical profile of the socket where the rear bush fits means that one side eds up effectively "upside down" and it doesn't sit in that position naturally so has a tendency to push out. However, for me although one side looks "wrong" they are still in place and haven't caused a problem

arent the powerflex ones 2 piece?

superPRO are ace and better price! i ave them and they are brill. one piece too.

This happens on a regular basis but only on the passenger side due to the make up of the bush and arm as mentioned before. They are also a very poor quality product as the metal washers within the bush rust after only a few weeks.

Yea had mine in about 2months and now am find a continous knocking from the front when doing from lock to lock, cud this problem be making this knocking.

Mine would creak and groan when going lock to lock and nock over bumbs. I had mine professionally fitted by a sponser on this site and the 3rd time it popped out after only 6 days when I was in Germany

If you put your head under your car you will see if it has popped out. Just look behind your front wheel at the susoension arm.

I'm amazed at the bad press for the powerflex bushes.....

I've had mine in for 4 years, (45k miles) and never once had any issues, the old girl is driven hard too:D

Your sig says superpro bushes

Ah, yes.....:o

Only the front wishbones are powerflex, everything else is superpro.

I spoke too soon............

Yep my drivers side popped out today!!!

Fu*kin joy of joys.....:(

Well, i'm at Jabba on Friday, i'll just stick a set of the superpro's onto my shopping list...:D

Steve:)

is this just a problem on octavia's?

Certainly for people using the powerflex bushes it would seem, I would hazard a guess and say it will be similar for the Golf mk.4, A3, Leon etc.

OEM bushes should be fine - if a little soft and wallowey. SuperPro looks to be the way forward!!

The only OE bushes worth considering are the void-free TT ones. The standard OE void bush, new or otherwise are terrible.

Are both the fore and aft front wishbone bushes from the TT different then?

Or just the rearward bush, as pictured in this thread.

Got any part numbers for those bad boys?

I see you can buy a complete replacement wishbone with bushes for £25ish....

TT front bushes are larger and won't fit the pressed arms.

~Part numbers are in the uk-mkivs link posted above, and here to save looking for it :D
