Nissan parts ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Featured Replies

If you ever thought getting parts for a Skoda can sometimes be hard then dont buy a Nissan. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 & 1/2 weeks & they still cant get a master cylinder for a 350Z. Nissan Uk said on Friday its no longer listed as on back order so we might (YES MIGHT) have one on monday.

Last time I wanted an oil pressure switch, listed by Nissan UK as in stock but none in the warehouse & no idea when they could get one !!!

Luckily a race team who run zeds let me have one.

Weve had 3 Skodas & still have 2 of them, most parts in stock & never had to wait more than 2 days even for obscure bits.

Indeed - Never had a serious issue myself getting bits and bobs either. Seems the VAG parts network is pretty clued up.

Must admit I`ve never waited more than a day to get parts from Skoda

It's usually a day for me at local dealers. Although one or two small parts have to be special order and take a week or so but that's probably due to the age of my car. Don't know how old a 350z is but recently got a master cylinder and rear cylinders next day for my 94 skoda - and this is after Skoda officially declared they do not intend to continue providing parts for the Favorit as it is well over 10 years since they were last made. Quite cheap as well, think it was only £40 for master cylinder and tenner a side for rear cylinders.

And dont be mistaken that the problem is just cos its a 350z, which to be fair is quite a specialised motor and sold in low volumes compared to say the Nissan Navara I had last year..........

1 week lead time for a Propshaft, 4 weeks for a bluetooth control unit, 1 week for a clutch............

Then an x-trail I had........ 2 weeks for a Turbo, 2 weeks for a boost valve........

Hi

Our Nissan Sunny, (Japan built imported) has only needed the following in 240,000+km, new speedo, had to be shipped to Sarajevo from Japan in winter 1999, Complete rear bumper in 2003 ( bumped in back on roundabout) again came from Japan to Rotterdam then to Croatia. Left Rear light in 2006, again Japan to Rotterdam. Time these items took to arrive was always weeks, but we were lucky that car was never once actually off the road for those periods. Keep your chin up !!

Octy 2, 1.9 TDI PD Ambiente 4x4 Combi and Nissan Sunny 2.0 DLX, Company Octy 1.9 TDI Tour Combi.

I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but is there a Renault alternative that would be the same part?

Was in my dealers today. Someone from one of the local Dub Clubs had ordered a set of G60 wheels as they are still listed and cheaper than ebuying 2nd hand. It took them a week ot get them.

you should see the hassle bengie had getting parts for Mavis

Stuart, is your part uprated ?

Have you tried Andy Middlehurst, as he might have some interesting bits on his shelves.

Welcome to Middlehurst Nissan

Yeah.. i will imagine mazda will be the same :o

Hopefully yes. Anoying thing is it was booked in the bodyshop this week to get rid of the various nicks & scrapes.

I've not had time issues with Nissan, but the costs are ludicrous. I had a lights issue with my old Micra, and they wanted £110for a dim-dip unit - an almost empty box with a relay, a basic PCB and 50p worth of components. I eventually got one from a local scrappy for a tenner.

I also had a run-in with them over NATS keyfobs - it went something like this:

Me: Could you tell me how much one of these (waves keyfob) will cost?

Nissan Parts Guy: Ok, be right back (checks computer for a couple of minutes).. you're looking at £115

Me: *blinkblink* seriously?..

NPG: Yeah, it has to be recoded, you see?

Me: But you can do that yourself - it tells you how in the NATS manual that comes with the car.

NPG: I wouldn't know about that (smug smile)

Me: You have to do it when you fit a new battery because the keyfob loses the code

NPG: Like I said, I wouldn't know about that

Me: Ok, so is that price including the recoding?

NPG: Yes

Me: erm.. well how much is it without that?

NPG: £50

Me: But there's nothing in it! And how come it's £65 for someone to do a 60 second job?

NPG: (shrugs and smiles some more)

I eventually cannibalised my other two to make a good one - no big deal as I still have the master.

Update.

Due yesterday but now back on back order. might have one by 31st FFS

My contact in the race team will have a look through the discarded pile this morning. If that fails I might know of a s/hand one.

Its a good job Nissans are generally reliable as getting spares is a joke

... that was the problem with the old Alfas we used to have (GTVs, Suds and Sprints) - great cars but they did occasionally break () and the dire dealers, time for parts to arrive on the slow boat from Italy and costs were a real downer.

Did anyone see watchdog last night? There was me thinking Navara's were indistructible. Apparently on certain model years -2005 ish - the con-rods bearings dissolve and blow a hole in your engine. oh dear. Some poor bloke had 3 of them with the same fault and Nissan refuse to recall them

how about a month for a pair of rear shocks that cost about £100 each :)

or a rad that took 3-4eeks and cost £150

or £120 each for springs(got them elsehere as they were actually eavailable for a change!)

they anted £75 for a dizzy cap and rotor arm they could hopefully get within 3 weeks  (£25 from allparts and arrived next day).

yours chould be alright col being a lot newer and more of them made/sold :)

Nissan's reliability seems to have taken a massive nosedive since Renault took over - the most recent Micra was an absolute PITA, especially when it came to timing chain issues and electrical gremlins.
