Recommendations for Digital Photo Frames

We have a Philips one Steve and can't say a bad thing about it. We got it a couple of christmas's ago so it's one of the smaller 6x4 ones with 4 differant facias..... Black, white, silver & red, and it's easy to use and setup. Comes on at around 10am and goes off at about 1am. I think we have around 80 or 90 pics on there and it hasn't been updated for around 9 months so we have another 30 or 40 to go on there when i get round to it. It can be set to change anywhere from every minute through to every hour or so and has various effects when changing.

My best man always sits and watches it whenever he comes round till he sees a picture with him on it. :D:D

My folks bought a cheapy one online last year and it lasted a month or so before it got put away somewhere. Theirs didn't even turn itself on or off!!!!! So they had to unplug it every night.

I think if i was getting one now i'd go for one of the slightly larger one's but back when i got our's they were BIG money and our's was well over £100 too.

Cheers

Dave.

When do you need to know by Xav.

Just need to check with somebody, but never know.

Mark, any notice, whilst stocks last. I can't predict when they'll go.

The D80 has also arrived, at £87.07. But it's a 4:3 aspect ratio.

If you can escape for a long lunch break early next week, you're more than welcome to pop up from Soton :)

The question asked was do they do the 9" version with the similar specs to the 7" and if so what's the price as that would be preferable. Think the model number is DPF-V900.

Let me know (think you've got my mobile) and if not I'll take a 7" one and try and sort it out with you. I've got Monday off to sort out a few things so might be able to pop up then.

Thanks again :)

The specced out V900 is more expensive but has features like HDMI output and sports 512MB built in RAM. It's over £100 IIRC. We don't have it in the shop at the moment.

Ta for looking I'll let you know on the 7" version before monday and might drop you a PM regarding another item if that's ok :)

Regarding digital photo frames, look for 800x600 pixel resolution digital frames if your main concern is to show photos, 800x480 screens are good as video player if they come with rechargeable battery. The sony models have only 800x480 screen resolution but are priced quite high when you can get many other makes of similar quality at decent price.

Always avoid the 480x234 pixel resolution 7 inch frames they give a bad taste.

If you are looking for a Bluetooth frame, Sony may sound an obvious choice but the bluetooth adapter is not included it costs extra and no one knows where to buy it from.

Also the sony 9 inch frame is not actually 9 inch, visible screen size is only 8.5 the same goes for Philips 9 inch, Philips screen size is only 8 inch, they never state their screen size any where, they only provide a model number which makes you think it is a 9 inch screen. Philips 7 inch screen is only 6.5 inches. So look around and make your choice.

Not sure if the op got sorted with this but i recently got an 8 inch 800x600 frame from Jessops. It takes every type of flash card and also has 256mb built in. Plays video and MP3 too. Half price at £50. My local store did not have any left so they called my next nearest (6 miles away) and reserved me one.
