Some of you may know that I've been waiting to hear from my fleet manager whether I can have the new Superb I want.

The company has the BMW 318d SE Metallic as a benchmark car, if they can lease the requested car for the same or less you can have it.

Well my first choice was the 1.8 DSG Elegance with some extras and that was a no:thumbdwn:

However they have said yes to a 2.0 TDI 170 Elegance with metallic, park assist, heated washer nozzles and carpet mats:thumbup:

I am so chuffed, I just need to decide on the exterior colour (interior will def be black). Has anyone seen black in the flesh? Does it look good? Any links to pictures of the new Superb in black? I also like steel grey (Bagpuss I've seen your pics) and anthracite. Now I actually have to make the choice it's really difficult.

This will be my 3rd Skoda (2003 Suberb 1.9PD 130 Comfort and a 2006 Octavia vRS TFSI) and I'm really happy to be coming back to the fold!

All opinions on colours welcome!

Perhaps Mr woodenspatulars would take a photo of the one in his showroom

I've got a black with black Elegance, and it does look very nice (even if I am biased). Other choice was the Rosso with black, which was the colour of my Mk I, and that was very tasteful too.

I've also seen Black with the ivory and that is just sooooo stylish, but I suspect a pig to keep clean inside.

Like the impatient child I am, I have rushed in and ordered Black Magic (I found Bagpuss' pictures from the launch day he attended) with Onyx interior.....so no negative comments please! I'm confident it will look the bees knees.

I saw a steel grey or silver one with dark leather and trim at my local dealers yesterday - wow, looked really good. I don't agree with the reviews which say the lower trim is bad being hard plastic. Surely much easier to keep clean, just give it a rub with a damp cloth. Overall very impressed. I'm just glad I need an estate or else I'd now be seriously skint

TBH I think all the greys/silver/black look pretty good, I actually think the Mocha looks pretty good, but I couldn't face telling people I drive a brown Skoda:eek:

I also quite like the white, I think it looks well on the Octy vRS but on the Superb I don't like the possible taxi connotations.

Congratulations Dan. I'm glad you finally got it sorted.

Got to admit that my first preference was for DSG, but I simply couldn't afford the lease rate. The manual is very good, though.

Black looks really good in the flesh, but I simply loved the steel grey when I saw the first promo pictures. Love at first sight, if such a thing is possible with a paint colour.

I spoke to my fleet manager today and I'm going to take a slightly different angle, once the order is signed off he will check with the lease company if there are any cars available (170 Elegance with Park Assist) in silver/anthracite/steel/black and I will take whichever could give me a quicker delivery date.

I like all these colours and hopefully I may see a car quicker than a 12 week factory order.
