The maths involved in exhaust modifying!

Featured Replies

To have an exhaust angle of 135deg means bending the tube such that the exit is ahead of the bend! You talk about these values as the amount the tube has been bent from being a straight tube!

But not when indicated with that angle sign on the drawing you dont ;)

At the moment my exhaust goes 2.5 into 2.25 so in a way there is a small constriction, plus the exhaust place I had it done at was a bit crap and their bends are not mandrel at all. Therefore I believe I am better to go out down and out the side, using bought in bends supplied mail-order. :) I want to achieve something like the Norris Evo above but my exhaust will be terminating behind the sill, and will also be champfered so as to hide it quite a bit. ;) Essentially there will be no exhaust to see from the outside unless you get on hands and knees. That's the idea. :)

IMO it should be quick and cheap to make. Unless you count the downpipe as part of the exhaust.... In which case - good luck - LOL.

I assume your current exhaust has to negotiate the rear beam somehow and doesn't do it the "Maniflow Mini" way by having the exhaust as a skid plate.

Good luck with the project. It'll be interesting to see how you manage the packaging and whether it ends up being carted home in the boot after "yumps" incidents. :D
