Vehicle Check (HPI RAC etc)

Featured Replies

Do these check to see if a cars been in an accident or do they only check to see if its been a total loss?

Cheers

Can only check if damage has been reported via the insurance company. Any accident damage that is repaired without being notified anywhere, wont be known.

Cheers.

Is it policy for insurance companies to report or accidents or do they only really do it for total losses?

Think it might be only if it's been written off or has outstanding finace.

Just carried out a check on my car which was hit by an uninsured driver 4 years ago. Damge was a new rear bumper was needed. Not details of the accident was on the RAC check.

As long as it's been repaired to a good standard then it won't be recorded.

If you ask a seller of a car if it's been involved in an accident they should tell you.
