Nice... clean and natural evolution...

Bit volvo-esque tho.

Those are the same wheels as the current L&K uses.......

Very Volvo-ish from the back.

Not sure I like it as much as the current one.

still cant make my mind up about the front... suppose i'll have to wait and see what they do with the vRS... do like the idea of an estate from the Skoda stable for my next car though.

Looks like a bit of Audi A4 Estate in there as well as the Volvo....

I'm just writing up the spec now:

Options:

Leather interior

Electric sunroof (cheapskates don't inc. as std anymore!)

Xenons

Parking sensors

Detachable tow bar

Will wait for the 4x4.. or abandon skoda altogether....

If the new vRS is good (ie: it has six cylinders, turbos and four wheel drive) then I'll probably buy one. If not, I think I'll be in the market for a second hand S4 or M5.

S4/M5 very good choice but very very thirsty cars!!!!!

What's all this talk about Volvo? V40 maybe, but I prefer my Estate's to look like a real Estate car, none of this "lifestyle" or "Sportswagon" nonsense - a la Alfa 156 and Merc Estates of recent years.

Maybe if you all go for it, there might be plenty of old shape Octy Estates for me to choose from.....

Java, you can have mine if there is anything left of it.

from that last video of you in a stream, there won't be.......

I want a soot machine anyway.......(come to think of it, that could be arranged with yours with a little "attention".).... ;)

I went down that route before modifying mine as I found them to be:

1/ All thrashed, high mileage and in poor condition, who looks after an M5

2/. Expensive to service and get parts, tyres and brakes for example

3/. Thirsty: 20-23 mpg if you're lucky

4/. High on depreciation: may seem good value now but own it for two years and see what you get offered. Just look at M5 prices now: low 20s and will be 10k in 2 years time.

In a nutshell the Skoda is a much better financial decision even after spending out on mods.

To be honest, depreciation on the Skoda has been pretty appaling too. As with any car there are good and bad examples - I'll buy based on condition, not mileage. By the time I'm ready to buy an M5 or similar, they'll have done almost all their depreciation, and with a decent service contract, they're not too expensive to run.

As for fuel costs - my drive home from work today returned 23.2 MPG. Hardly the most economical of cars...

As I said, if Skoda get it right, I'll be happy to buy another Octavia from them. However, if they don't provide what I'm looking for then I'll go elsewhere.

Yes, this looks like the real thing, and pretty classy. Thank goodness they haven't tried to graft on a French lifestyle look! I think this will sell very well if Skoda markets it properly.

The same pics as on Skoda Desktop, looking good and if they drive aswell as the hatch they will be good :).
