Recommend me a PDA

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Need to start organising my time a lot better and stick to using ONE form of managing appointments, meetings, etc etc.

So can someone recommend me a good value PDA for less than £200 which is as feature rich as possible (gadget freek :o).

The only solid requirement is for it to be able to sync with Outlook (and possibly two different profiles (ie work lappy account and personal home account)

Oh and the slimmer the better as I don't want to be carrying a mini laptop around with me.

Cheers

erm yeah .... no thanks.... been there done that.

Just to add I do not want a phone with pda functions or a pda with phone functions.

iPaq seem good (I have a 110/114 model). As they run Windows then sync with MS software should be easy (he says). My little model has wifi, bluetooth, decent screen, takes SD cards (got an 8gb in there now). Plays movies, music, even came with basic word/excel etc.

I think the 200 series is probably just in your price range.

Yeah seems the ipaq model is the one popping up in all the reviews.

Fujitsu Siemens N560.....

hi-res screen

wifi

bluetooth

sd card

GPS

Windows Mobile 6.

Why don't you want a PDA Phone? It's basically WM6 with a phone application. HTC Diamond or Touch Pro if you need a full qwerty, contract to spread the cost or Ebay??

HTC phone of some sort.

Lots of geeky shinyness.

I have a company mobile.... and sim enabled pdas don't seem to have as decent size screen etc as pure a pda.... plus i don't want a contract.

I have an old Palm Tungsten T - cost me £50 on ebay and has worked faultlessly. Syncs with Outlook and bluetooth phones and came with all the relevant software including Documents to Go (Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc., Acrobat Reader etc.)

i would recommend a palm, had 3 palms and for last couple of years have had a pocket pc ASUS or something similar but windows o/s on a handheld is nothing but trouble. Palm is so much easier to operate and less chance of crashing and data loses.

Unless you want to die of frustration, avoid HTC phones. Horrible things.

You can have my old Palm Tungsten T3 for a good price (if I can find it..........)

Phil,

If you do find it and the bits and our friend above doesn't want it I'd be interested just in case mine ever dies... Cracking piece of kit!

Thanks PhilC, but I'll pass on the tungsten, the screen isn't big enough for me as a good third is taken up by that touch pad thingy.

Nah... sold my old one about 6 months ago.... didn't rate it that well

nearly new ones can be found at reasonable prices;)

I'll see what I can find. It should have two cradles and some otehr bits. I'll PM you if I get a minute to dig it out.

Ta - I've got the cradles, usb cables and chargers etc. from my Tungsten T and I think the T3 is the same connections but anything you can find...

Wonder if you can still pick up old psions... still the best by far IMHO :)

I was going to recommend the HTC someone on here is selling.

I have the XDA exec bought off Philje and its still awesome.
