retro fit heated seats

Featured Replies

anyone know if it possible to retro fit heated seats onto a VRS ? or maybe there is an after market kit available ?

For a retrofit you need to also change the Climatronic unit with one that has the dials for seat heating, possibly wires need to be added as well.

Is your budget up to that expense?

You can get a nifty little pad that plugs into 12v supply:)

I know why you want one tho. My mates got them in his ST Mondy and they are grrrreeeaat on a cold morning!

i have them on my passat now and will have them on the superb II when its delivered in jan. looking at buying a vRS in the future and wondered how hard they are to find with heated seats fitted or whether to just buy any car and have them fitted. it was 3°c this morning and the seats in my passat were very welcome. essential in the superb as the seats are full leather.

You can get retrofit kits (pads to go under the seat covers and wiring/relas/switches for about £60 with two stage heating rather than the thumbwheel OE version - not as pretty but perfectly functional!

Here you go - on ebay as a buy it now - £65:

I used to love doing that when going on date's when I was younger. Turn the heated seat on and see the look of horror on their faces as they had just thought they had just lost control of their bladder on the 1st date! Was an ice breaker anyway

How much work is it to fit them though? The seat cover looks like a nightmare to get off...

I love 'em on the VRS - on these cold morning I stick them as soon as I start the car - they are the best way to warm up quickly imo when the engine is cold.
