Hi I have a Felica 1.3 LXI 98/99 build. I am looking for the answers to the folowing 4 questions, have had a look around the site but may well be looking in wrong place/missing the answers!

1. I believe this model uses a chain not a cambelt is this right?

2. what are the inlet/exh setings for the tapets.

3. what is the spark plug gap (lot of info in owners manual on plugs bar this!)

4. what is the coolant system quantity?

Any help with the above would be most welcome, thank you.

I have the 1.6 but will try and help until a more enlightened answer appears.

The 1.3 does indeed use a camchain. Not sure on the intervals but some people have changed them without the need to take to a garage.

The 1.9D and 1.6 engines have the timing/cambelt which should be changed at 60k miles

Coolant system quantity? That I don't know. I just filll it til it reaches the max marker in the reservoir.

With the coolant not sure of capacity but if you drain it make a mix of 50% water 50% red/pink/orange (i've heard all sortsa descriptions of the colours:D but definately not green or blue due to lack of corrsion inhibiters in the blue/green type of coolants) then refil to the max the mark then its a case of running the engine stop/starting it to get rid of the air locks and keep topping up with the mixed coolant.

General consenus i believe is 0.20mm on both inlet and exhaust valves, done this on mine and it gets driven hard and fast (i know its relative) never had a prob at these settings.:thumbup:

Cam chain driven on the 1.3 no time limit but change with gears if noisy kit aprox 35.00 ish from Jorily if i remember, not hard to do but set aside a bit of time for the first one you do:thumbup:

Set the plug gaps to 0.80mm on NGK's and not had a prob with these either :thumbup:

Welcome and good luck:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Coolant capacity is quoted as 6 litres. So if you're off to buy some coolant I'd get 2X 1.5 litre bottles of G12+ coolant which can be bought from GSF, and 3x 1 litre bottles of deionised water. Maybe an extra bottle of each in case top ups are needed.
