Had someone go into the back of me this morning :(

Featured Replies

Not a happy bunny, travelling down the M6 this morning.

I stopped, she didn't :thumbdwn:

Damage doesn't look that bad though tbh, i'm surprised how strong the Octy is !

The back bumper has defiantly moved as i can see more of the exhaust and there is a scratch on it as well. Thing is you never know how much damage has been done until you have a proper look.

Already spoke to my insurance this morning, going to take it down to the garage this weekend to get an estimate. I had 2 other people in the car with me as well being as we all work at the same place, they are complaining of neck pains. I feel ok but then again when i looked in the mirror i new she wasn't going to stop by the look of  on her face, my passengers didn't!

I'll update you more on the weekend, even though it wasn't that bad i still want to cry lol

Bad news. I had that a year ago, with the Fabia- the compensation is still being sorted out.

Watch out where you take it: at least one local bodyshop is sh1te.

I saw something like that once, and all that had happened was that the back box had popped a mounting rubber; £1 to fix at Kwik-Chimp.

And a friend of mine once took a corner off her Daihatsu 4trak by trying to squeeze it through a gap her previous Fester would have gone through. The Octy she hit wasn't even scratched!!

I've got the body shop sorted, It's one i've used for years. I work there on Saturdays to help them out (for free!!) and get some experience, been doing it for a year and a half now. But i know the work is good so it'll look brand spanking when it's done.

I hope it's not the one that you think are crap, it's called A & P Cowley in Pelsall.

No. Where are they? Our Lupo needs some work, so I might be interested if you say their work is good.

the crap place is Aldridge Accident Repair- used to be near Aldridge School on Walsall Road, but it has moved. They did a terrible, half-assed repair on a Polo SWMBO had.

Have a good look at the rear lights, for damage and water getting in.

Be careful on talking to your passengers.

Nasty as it is to say this, they could potentially sue you for their pain and then your insurance co will pass it onto the car that hit you with a cost.

Just make sure you don't end up in a situation where you end up having to pay them out without getting the 3rd party to cough up.

Thanks for the heads up cheezemonkhai i'll make sure i speak to them about it!

CJB - The place is in pelsall by Railswood farm, they did all the work on my old Astra. They are mainly accident repairs but also do the odd custom job. I'll put a couple of pics below for you to have a look. If you want to come down i'll be there this Sat morning, just give me a shout if you want a quote.

Regarding the neck, you need to get a claim in asap and ask for physio asap, I'm 18 mths in on one right now, you don't pay anything the solicitor handles it all for you, then comes the offers, I've been offered £1400 to start with, this rose to £2500 and the latest is just under 4k, I've declined it as I've now been diagnosed with premature arthritis and have a click in my neck so I don't think a full recovery is ever on the cards for me now.

Hope everyoine was ok...how's the car doing now?

All is cool, i got a call from her insurance company yesterday saying she's admitted liability so it'll get sorted in the next week or so. It's only a repair job, just some scuffs and scratch's but better it get repaired. No one is claiming for an injury as no one has anything wrong so all is cool......i think!
