Can't believe I missed this thread before! I still occasionally listen to my Deep Heat 89 album that's gone from cassette to mp3 to CD (yes, in that order!) and now resides on my phone at a somewhat reduce bitrate so it'll fit in what space is left on the memory card...

Erstwhile future classics include: A Day In The Life; Voodoo Ray; Break 4 Love; Pump Up The Jam; Stakker Humanoid; Strings Of Life...

Not a bad time to start getting into music, if I say so myself!

Sometimes Radio 1 has downloads, like a podcast thing.

You may be able to get it from there, or at least the best bits.

Anyway...i'm celebrating this morning.

My 2 yr old daughter has just discovered "Charly" from the prodigy, on my mp3 player, and loves it. :D

She's good at the cat noises too. :D :D

Girl has class. ;)

Early 90's was by far my favourite. I was a mobile DJ, that Rozalla was a belter, as was YouTube - Off Shore - I Can't Take the Power ( 1990 )

My all time fave 90's tune is YouTube - Oceanic - Insanity (original)

That makes very hair on my body stand up.....my eyes close, and I touch.............never mind.

Well, stone me if I don't actually have an Insanity CD single signed by the band!

Saw them 'live' at Flicks in Brechin many moons ago.

Shame they only had two (?) hits.

Since I really love music listened to a few of those links and sad to say they sounded just as manic now as they did back then. That’s not to say I didn’t like some House music later on like Daft Punk’s ‘Fresh’ even though it is a 20 second musical loop or, more recently Mylo but is that the Electronic genre? What genre is Fun Lovin Criminals. I like a lot of their smooth stuff. Back in the 80s I was still buying LPs listening to music like Blue Nile, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, David Sylvian, Tracy Chapman, Robert Cray, Peter Gabriel, Queen, UB40, U2, Dire Straits, Sting, Madonna, Grace Jones, The Pretenders etc. Wasn’t until our kids grew up that we got into Chicane, Zero 7, Lemon Jelly, Nightmares on Wax, Groove Armada and all that stuff especially, recently, Bent and Bonobo. Very, very recently been getting into Bluegrass like Alison Krauss & Union Station and a lot of that is really, really fast and very, very musical. Now I am rambling on; actually Ramblin Man by the Allman Brothers, as opposed to Lemon Jelly’s similar title, was amazing in its day too.
