Hello all,

If you couldnt guess by my username, my names John lol, i'm from the North East and live just outside H/pool.

Not really new to the site as I signed up ages ago to look up a couple of faults for my dad, he has now retired as a taxi driver and has just given me his 266,000 mile 03 Octavia classic (1.9 Diesel).

I know its about the lowest of the low in terms of model and spec, bu have to say i'm really finding it a nice car to drive especialy with so many miles on the clock aswell. So much so I will be ordering either a late registered (58 plate) last of this shape model, or a one of the newer shape models soon to replace this with.

Will put some pics up tonight after I finish work, as I can honestly say I havent taken any of it at the moment. But the states of the roads at the min, they wont be clean pics lol

Got a few little issues with the windows being squeeky, and the rear washer wiper not working.

But from looking about on here I have a few things to try today

I used to work at a dealers and there was many many of the SDi taxi`s that used to come in to us for warranty claims

Brake light switches , haxxard switch and unfortunately on the SDi`s the gearbox`s

But very high mileage`s

Good cars and goes to show when you see some of the milage`s that they get out of them

I know its already had the gearbox changed by my dad, so fingers crossed I wont have any major issues with it during the time i've got it
