Hi girls and boys

Ive been hearing and reading recently that people who have a 1.8t are using a vr6 clutch and a g60 flywheel,

my qustions are 1- is anyone using this set-up?

2- is this a good set-up?

Yep pretty good set up.

I have a G60 flywheel and an uprated Helix clutch for my 1.8T, supplied by Awesome.

Had one of these setups on my 1.8T Ibiza Cupra and it made a huge difference, i was putting around 240BHP through it and it was fine also much lighter then the DMF

I used a G60 flywheel (same as passat GT 9a 2.0 16v) with an uprated corrado VR6 clutch on my mk2 20vt. Was running 230bhp and had no problems.

I happen to have a spare G60 flywheel

what kind of power will the mk1 vrs take on a standard clutch, mine is ok at the min and im not after big power from my oct vrs but its one of those things which is worth knowing.

I would say 225 bhp is fine on the standard clutch anymore than that you will have to be very careful accelerating hard in 1st & 2nd gear. Your clutch will obviously wear quicker the more power your putting through it so even at 225 it's going to wear slightly quicker, but my mate had his chipped (jabba sport) at 26,000 miles and it is on 97,000 on the same clutch, still going strong! (don't want the debate about what BHP this chip would produce but its definately 210 bhp or higher)

Do you still have the spare fly wheel if so are you looking to sell maybe interested???

for what it's worth I have this kit fitted on mine, 2002 vRS 220bhp and so far no probelms at all.

the price made it worth the punt I thought, and so far no complaints, not the hardest of bites when you take up drive, but certainly no slip with the remap power/torque.

I'd reccommend to get a set of genuine 1.8T flywheel bolts and VR6 clutch bolts though to guarantee the quality for the sake of a few quid.
