Taxi drivers discussion in regard to superb 2

Featured Replies

YAWN !!

but the superb on auto trader is still good value !!

come on mods - move this post !! PLEASE (you were very quick to move my petol vs diesel debate even though i was directly talking about the superb !)

One last one from me and then i'm out of it.

To get 4 cabbies together to pool profits just won't work, what if you have 2 drivers earning 50% more than the other 2, the 2 lesser earners won't want to help towards the other 2's higher tax bill, besides I've never heard of this, it might be a good thing for 1 man owning 5 different businesses where one low yealder can pull down the bill on a higher yealding business, but as far as 4 individuals trying to operate under 1 tax demand it just wouldn't work.

And now a little something for JCB to keep him interested

Thread moved to general car chat.

Thanks to the mod for moving this topic, I certainly appreciate it as I'm all for learning!

Brighton's a bit limiting isn't it? You can't do this, you can't do that.

Yes it is, so are most councils that have adopted the miscellaneous provisions act of 1976!

Minimum width across the rear passenger compartment, no tinted windows, cars like the Galaxy must have 1 of the 2nd row seats removed to make easy access to the 3rd row, no cars without spare wheels (ie. puncture repair kits) & so on!

As I said before, the red tape is barmy. The knowledge process here now takes a minimum of 9 months, you have do an English speaking language course/test, a CRB check, a DSA advanced driving exam, a 2 hour route test & a 150 question knowledge where you have to give the road name at either end of the street listed. This is even before you start to consider whether a Mk1 or a Mk2 Superb will be right for the job lol.

Back to the VAT question. I fully understand I can register voluntarily however the maths dont add up. If I am forced to give 8% of my income (you now know the max fare charged is capped by the council) to HMRC how am I going to be better off?
