strange noise after engaging reverse?

Featured Replies

When i took my car for its MOT yesterday i noticed a strange noise after i selected reverse. I have rear parking sensors and it still makes the noise which lets you know you have selected reverse but then about 10 secs later it makes a higher pitch than normal, sounds a bit like a car horn when battery getting low.

the car in question is an 04 0ct vrs.

the guy at the garage said it could be the speaker going for the rear parking sensors.

any ideas or help would be helpful???????

cheers:thumbup:

Does the noise come from the driver side B pillar just above the seatbelt fixing? Because that's where your reversing speaker is located, so yeah, I'd suspect something wrong with that.

yeah it does come from the drivers side b pillar, just wondered if any one else has had this strange problem?

If its from that side then it will be the speaker.

Have a look in the boot for the control box. Its only a tiny thing but when you find it, unplug the yellow connector and then stick it in reverse to see if the noise is gone as im sure that the yellow wire is for the speaker
