Phaeton 3.0 TDi 4motion

Featured Replies

Evening all

I've liked the Phaeton for some time but the prices have been out of my league. I notice the diesels are now more affordable so I'm seriously considering one as my next car (around Feb time next year).

Has anyone got any thoughts on:

A) The Phaeton in general

B) The 3.0 TDI in a car of this size

C) Reliability

D) Running costs. - I realise these will be high, but is it a case of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it?"

Cheers

Phil

The Phaeton is a VERY nice car...however, it weighs an awful lot, and as such even the diesel is pretty poo on economy.

You would be wise to consider an A8 equivilent to be honest.

Service costs are high, as are parts...I saw a thread on here the other day and someone mentioned a £000 bill for a fairly simple part. Do a search for it :)

Hope This Helps!

One thing I hadn't realised was that not all dealers can service them- only 'Phaeton Centres'. I don't know if this has any bearing on things- perhaps a limited knowledge of them even within the dealer network?

Those 3.0TDi's aren't that bad on fuel. And with a cheeky map on them they go like feckery. Expect around 35mpg on the motorway if driving carefully.

VW dealers need to have a Pheaton trained Tech to be able to work on them and hence only some do.
