No don't even think about it.

Wow thanks that was one quick reply

Any chance of a reason why it would not work ?

Because it's a different engine.

I'm new to these skoda's as I have just bought mine

But I thought the engines were the same other than the turbo ko3 on mine

Vrs ko3's

Thought it was just the 225 engines that were the bam engine

I'm no expert myself mate, but you just gave a reason in that statement, iirc the heads are slightly different as well. I'm sure someone who knows more will be along to enlighten us both:)

Pretty sure the 4x4 ARX engine has the k03s turbo as well.

The only reason is, I have an tuned map for my mate Vrs it runs around 17 psi

its no big deal if it don't work I will just flash back my original ecu file. I just thought someone

might know ..

Sweet k03s aswell

Only bought the car 2 weeks ago and my mate told me the only difference is the turbos.

Nah even the 150bhp from 2001 all ran the K03S anyhow.

Maps should in theory should swap over I think, no physical differences in the engine as long as the both have variable valve timing.

Well dont take my word as gospel. there are some differences in the size of the little ends on some of the engine codes, probably one or two small differences. I'd ask Mr Washbrook on the ecu files side of things, he is usually on here.

APX and BAM (the 225bhp engines) and also the APX (210bhp) have lower compression different pistons etc.

There must be some difference somewere. Otherwise thay would be both 180 bhp.

skoda Vrs 2002 180 bhp

skoda Elegance 2002 150 bhp

I wouldn't just go flinging the map on there, but with a bit of research on injectors, FPR and turbo I suppose it could be feasible. But it's not something I would do, especially if you are talking about a tuned vrs map.

If you can map the car then you might as well get a (decent) tuned map for that engine though, by far the easiest and safest way forward.

There will be a reason that they are different and I wouldn't like to find out the hard way if I were you. I'd rather pay £150 for a decent tuner to write me a map than spend considerably more fixing my engine if it went wrong.

i thought the only diff between the 150 n 180 was the map? as the vRS in other countries is the 150 bhp engine. why would skoda make all 1.8T with 180bhp? surely it was pointless as the sporty vRS would have the same power as the L&K, 4x4 and any other they put the 1.8t into (if there was any) I think the only diff is the software but dont quote me on that (just in case)

when you look at gettin the 150 n 180 remapped they both give around the 210 mark.(more increase to the 150 than the 180) strange?

I would like to know for sure too though.

I would think there is something different as they have different engine numbers.

This is based on no fact whatsoever, in fact why am I here, it's xmas ffs.

I'm going too collapse on the sofa in a slight haze/daze:)

they are the same, the 1.8t with the same head/turbo came in 150/160/163/170/180/190 i think aswell as possibly more and the only difference is the map.

but i'd still check with a pro as there may technical differences with teh actual ecu side of things.

marketing reasons.

all of those are teh same, all 1.8t's under 210 came with a 3 bar FPR, K03s turbo and the same injectors but i can't remember the size.

do you know what the 190 version went into? I thought the highest was 180 which was in the vRS and some GTi??????? then audi and seat had the 1.8t 210 and 225 but with the k04 which has 2 coolers.

was the 190 only put into the A6???? or one of the bigger cars?

Sounds like it could be a go-er to me then.

The 190 with the K03s went into the B6 A4 S-Line cars around 54 plate, don't think it went into anything else but I could be wrong.

thought the s line a4 was only 180????
