thought the s line a4 was only 180????

No mate, the A4 (B6) 1.8T came in 150bhp (early cars) 163bhp and 190bhp. The A4 (B5) 1.8T quattro Sport was a 180 IIRC at around W-X reg.

rgr cheers. the B5 is that the one that looked sim to the last one but the grill was bit like the octy one not the hole front end from top to bottom?(B6)

No, the one with the full length grille is the B7 (2004-2008) and the one with the split grille is the B6 (2001-2004). The B5 is the previous shape available upto 2001 from 1995.

BTW the 1.8T in the B7 was only ever the 163bhp as the 200bhp 2.0T was introduced for the B7.

Edit: Feck me I'm a saddo

The 190bhp B6 set up used twin intercoolers.

(Even sadder).

You've taken more of them apart than me though mate, so your saddoness is a least a little bit justified ;)

rgr cheers

so the highest 1.8T with K03s and single cooler was 180. ne probs.

190 ;)

These only map up to around 220 though.

thats the thing. they are all same engine with the same parts just VAG tuned them slightly diff.

but to get to the 220-240 mark you need 2.5" turboback zorst, CAI or better Filter with mod on the box. FMIC or try and fit one on each side. and Pos a better TIP

imo to get anything more that 210-215 you will need the above. specially to maintain the power over prolonged time periods.?

still gettin back to the original post, I hope it works. BUT doesnt the 150 have sim sort of torque? (to std 180)

there muxt be a reason for them puttin a weaker slower engine in a 4x4??? to me a 4x4 should have more power than the vRS as it has more weight to lug around and the trans will sap most of the power ne way so really it would still be a less powered car? if you can understand that?

bil

More weight yes but the transmission losses on the 4x4 aren't as bad as you'd think as it's Haldex. Most of the time the car is FWD with the Haldex clutch disengaged.

But if the 4x4 was more power than the vRS, they would be shooting themselves in the foot marketing wise. That's always the story unfortunately.

mmm forgot bout the clutch.

fair one though.

you can still get some mods like I mentioned further up and get the car custom mapped to around the 220 mark and it can be done safely.

what you might have to watch is that the files are compatable and not old. When i had my car remapped at REDDOT on the 4th attempt they put an old file on not sure what part was old but the car ran fine, stopped and started multiple times on way back to cardiff. then after car had been stopped for a few hr and cooled down she had no spark and wouldnt start. had to get the ecu taken out and fixed by someone.

so be carefull mate.

My 150bhp 1.8T A4 (B6) was mapped to 219bhp at AmD back in the day. Standard car at the time too.

Simple reason the 4x4 and vRS have different outputs.

Ones a sporty model the other isn't.

exactly, its simple sales reasons.

to be honest I am bit mifed they didnt make the vRS 4x4.

what has happened to the days of makin cars RWD?????

would of made the car such a hoot..........

so why didn't you just buy a 4x4 then? its better spec'd :)

what has happened to the days of makin cars RWD?????

FWD drive cars are lighter, cheaper, have more room in them and simpler. what would you make as a car company interested in mass production and profits?

do you know what the 190 version went into?

Front wheel drive Audi TT with the black roof.

My mates missus had one.

cheers there is one of them at the place I work, looks nice and has some nice rims on it.

I didn't know there was a FWD TT with a black roof? The only one I knew of with a factory painted black roof was a TT quattro Sport which was 240bhp.

Just Flashed my Elegance with the tuned Vrs file

Seems to run as before but with alot more power

The file I used had different hardware and software codes and it works fine.

Just one thing though the car only runs around 15 psi thought it would run

around 19 to 20 psi..

Pulls alot better through the gears

Well chuffed

Regards

Pete

May have been but the one my mates missus had was 190bhp with a black roof.

Only available in black, silver and red from early '06.

Thats the 240bhp Sport. Did it have rear seats?

what has happened to the days of makin cars RWD?????

Most cars these days have a transverse engine layout, it makes more room inside the car and simplifies the tnransmission, however this arrangement doesn't lend itself to RWD.
