Speed Sunday WRC coverage

Featured Replies

Just been watching the WRC coverage, thinking that when Stage 13 comes up there'll be good coverage of Schwarz' first ever Skoda stage win.... Nope, just a small mention by the commentator as the times for SS13 came up :( :thumbdwn:

Oh, and there was a real nasty crash with Petter Solberg in the Scooby - deffo worse than my little incident, but not too dis-similar... Seemed to bend the roll cage which didn't look good at all! :thumbdwn:

You knew Solberg's crash was bad when all you could see from the interior camera was Dirt & Grass  very lucky

Any idea when this will be shown ? I gave up watching wrc due to the non existant coverage of skoda.

Coverage of the German round of WRC was on Speed Sunday... usually gets repeated on ITV1/2 during early hours of the morning

The Subaru crash was a nasty one, I also noticed the lack of Skoda, even though a fastest stage time was mentioned.

The Skoda WRC team are getting better and better. That break has really helped them sort the car. I think they're going to carry on improving, and when they start winning stages frequently, there's going to have to be more TV coverage.

When they re-enter the chamionship proper, and start causing a few upsets, they'll get the screen time.

As they are effictively using each event as a test, then they are unlikely to get the same coverage as the championship contenders :)

Anyone heading to Wales to spectate on the British round?

Shush Dave, you'll have me spending more money with that sort of talk !! :nono:

Shame the event is not like it was in the past, then you would only have had to travel to Keilder or the North Yorkshire forests.

Having said that, as it's now held in Brunstromia where they plant cameras instead of trees, i think i'll stay at home and watch it on tv ;)

Eurosports coverage is on at midnight tonight, if thats any good.

Both Channel 4 and ITV have never give Skoda much coverage, C4 got slated on their forum at the time but things didn't change.

Big  to Eurosport for there coverage, just a pity about the time (but thats due to the Olympics.

Solberg was very lucky to get out of the Subaru in one piece. Kresta had a fairly big off aswell, seen it on Euronews this morning.

Yep, saw sohlbergs crash on eurosport last night. Was going to do a post, obviously not quick enough. Don't bother with itv, eurosport always gives good coverage to Skoda. Last day today and think its on e/sport about midnight. You have to be carefull though, as they are quite often wrong with listed times. well worth it, in car cameras in Skodas etc.

cheers

Jonno.

We don't have Sky :(

Seems ITV consistently don't cover the Skoda team at all whereas Eurosport are much fairer (as I posted before). After all Kresta was third on one stage, their best ever result and I it wasn't even mentioned by ITV as far as I recall.

We don't have Sky :(

Its well worth getting, weekends of DTM, MOTO GP, World Super Bikes, ETCC, WRC and BTCC action on Motors TV and Eurosport. I didn't bother with any of the Movie or Sky Sports packages as the standard pack is all I need.

and the BTCC action today was awesome, rob huff got his first win in the SEAT toledo, jason plato got a win and second in the last race, total pandamoanium(sp)with the safety car on the last lap.

Last lap of Race 3 was excellent.

BTCC at its very best
