MP3 CD Changer and MFD2??

Featured Replies

Reading another thread got me wondering about something..

I have just bought an MFD2 off ebay for my Octy, but must admit I am going to be a bit gutted to lose the MP3 features of the Stream.... so is it possible to get an MP3 changer for the boot which would be compatible and supply all the data - folder, artist, title etc???

Thanks in advance.

hedge use to have a huge harddrive like thing in the boot of his car, cant remember the name of it, but it held tons of music. im sure someone will remember it something like phatbox or similar iirc.

To SMSTEXT,

Not 100% sure but is it a "phatbox" you are refering to?

think it is, HEDGE and someone else on here had one

Yes it was a Phatbox.. Also available as the Kenwood Music Keg.

Phatbox was a genuine VW Audi accessory but is no longer supported.

You can still pick up Phatboxes but as said they are starting to get on a bit now.

You could always trade your CD changer for an Ipod connection or use the Aux inputs on the MFD2.

I think I may have to go down the ipod route.... dont really want to though.

So is there no way I can get an mp3 changer to work with the mfd2?

Is there not an new alternative to the phatbox too?

I think there is a new multimedia cable available, at least for the colombus, not sure if this fits the mfd2 too, but it has some options like ipod connector, usb etc. Usb would give you the option to attach most mp3 players....
