depends on exactly what you want to go for first, some people go for straight out speed, others are happy standard and go for looks, and some for handling. i think ive spent about that on my car so far, (mainly on speed stuff, and some looks, so now im doing brakes (tarox g88's ready to go on at the weekend) and suspension

remap either £99 from ecu evolutions (generic map) or £4-500 on a custom map,

turbo back exhaust, about 5£-600 i think (unless you get second hand as i did)

Cold air induction kit (CAI) £50 from ebay, then stick a decent filter on it

Rear Anti roll bar around the £200 mark i think (although some as cheap as £150)

Diverter valve, about £120, forge, either the 007p or the spltr

seat leon cupra r splitter £22 ish from dealsership

rub down and spray your grill the same colour as the body (about £30 on paints and some patience)

i painted the inside of my headlights (the bits not needed for seeing, beam spread etc) that cost me £5 in paint

that would make a pretty good start, depending on how mechanically competent you are and if your willing to shell out for labour you can make it stretch quite far

hope this helps mate.

oh yeah and welcome to briskoda :)

induction kit and dumpvalve and then a remap also some coilovers maybe!!!! maybe a complete turbo back exhaust and a tip...:D

i would do the first 3 first that should take you to around the 210bhp mark  and then coilovers if you have enough left:thumbup:

Make sure you change the water pump at the same time.

Make sure you change the water pump at the same time.

is this another common problem??

I would go with Coilovers, Whiteline rear anti-roll bar, remap, Forge 007P divertor valve, BMC CDA, downpipe/sports cat + catback exhaust if you have any money left.

dont bother with the induction kit, it doesn't need it unless you want to make it louder to attract the attention of the local constabulary. agree that the ECU remap at £99 is the best value for money upgrade ever. Being a used car I would make sure that the basic maintenance has been sorted first, so when was the last service? cambelt change? Plugs? if the brakes are near to needing replacing get them done before anything else and go for standard discs with upgraded pads like EBC redstuff or Ferrodo ds2500 seem popular. you can get the Forge 007P for less than £100 if you shop around(Ihave a spare unused one - PM if you want to). Make sure it has good quality tyres, make sure the tyres are all good quality and dont forget to MAKE SURE IT HAS GOOD QUALITY TYRES. (sorry about that but cant stress enough how crucial good tyres are to your safety and enjoyment) you could spend £1500 on improvements but if the tyres are c**p then you go nowhere fast - well maybe into the hedge of the first fast corner, fast....

rear ARB is needed for more spirited driving couple that with uprated Bushes all round (search will help you choose which ones) then coilovers (KW3 seem to be popular)

oh and the most important upgrade you will need BRISKODA.net - Merchandise

took too long writing that, you guys beat me to it

is this another common problem??

The water pumps have plastic blades which can break up and jam the belt - major engine damage - or just stop pumping water causing overheating.

When the cambelt is being done it's almost no extra labour to get the pump swapped at the same time , where if you leave it until it later then you'll pay a lot in labour to get it swapped on it's own.

is this another common problem??

For an extra 30-odd quid you might as well while the timing belt is being done.

They last about 4 years then start to get brittle and crack. Chances are yours hasn't been done on a 2003 car.

The list is endless mate. once you start there is always something else to do. ALWAYS

the above is just a list of how I would do it if i started again. I have wasted a bit of money gettin the crappy generic map first then doin other mods instead of doin the mods first then gettin a proper custom remap. all the above can be done ur self but it is up to you. Dont forget to get some good discs and pads too. the std will be ok but not ideal with the extra power imo.

all the best mate, welcome to Brisky

See my sig for the basics

whats a sig?

Don't do any of the above mods!!!

Keep the car completely standard and spend your money on the GF or SWMBO.

Your car will be worth next to nothing when it's time to sell and standard bits will last longer, it will save you lots of money in the long run.

Trust me, I know.

yeh but in a couple of years the gf will be worth nothing so it will be time to trade in.

my octy may be high mileage, but at least its had less owners than the missis

S3 lower front strut brace - £30 ish from Audi dealer plus the bolts and rivets. Panel filter with a drilled box £35 ish.

/waits for someone to make a joke relating to tyre tread and swmbo.

I agree with the wise one...................

forgot that one lol. to be honest I cant tell the diff with the brace on.

Some cheap little mods you could do with any change you have after the "biggies":

Audi TT wheel arch vent - £19 from Audi, rivet it into your drivers side wheel arch to help route hot air away from the intercooler.

Boost gauge and vent mount - think these are anything from £50 to £70 depends whether you get the gauge included or not

Cupra Front splitter - £22 from Seat

Dogbone engine mount bush - £20 from Forge, stops the engine bucking about when you launch it

Oil catch can - £20 from ebay, reduces the amount of re-circulating oil gunking up your intake system

CG-Lock - £35 from ebay, holds you in your seat in the twisties, very good for the slippery vRS seats and worth having unless you are planning to get bucket seats and harnesses.

KVW-100 - £30 from VagProducts, lets you open and close the windows with the remote keyfob (bit of a gimmick really but handy for the summer)

Slight hijack but is the dogbone worth doing for normal driving?

yea, you hear the engine more as vibration is louder but i would say it is worth boing. i think if you do it it can put less strain on the engine mounts as it doesnt move around as much.

correct me if i am wrong.

if you look at my long post I have put more links in of were to get stuff from. when I got mine it they were the cheapest I found.(6 month ago)

or search for pikey mod if you dont want to spend the £19 :D
