Boomer help needed again. Sorry...

Right...

One might remember a thread by me where I let off a lot of steam because I lost a nice BMW E36 even though I had contacted the salesman and agreed on price and so on.

Anyways, there haven't been many good looking and well taken care of E36 saloons(I hate 2/3 door cars) on sale here anymore. So, I started looking at E46. There're plenty of very beautiful BMWs with good arsenal of gadgetry and reasonable mileage. But prices are about twice and more that of an E36. Also, I've heard that E46 is really expensive to take care of: repairs cost arm and leg.

So, I'd kinda like some advice: Should I wait some more for a nice E36 or maybe get myself a more expensive but probably more comfortable and more fun to drive E46? Dishing out more money would mean a loan or lease so that might not sound such a smart idea now but... I have time 'til early spring and then I'll definitely need myself a second car.

So please talk me out of E46 or if you fail at that, atleast assure me I dont have to sell my kidneys to repair it.

Going to have a tough time talking you out of that one, E46 is well liked, Even on looks alone I'd rather have a 46 than a 36 :)

Sorry.

Just my opinion but why a beemer? They are very good cars, but have a bit of a clitcar status. Even chavs drive them now

I'm a closet-chav :D

Well... The only cars I consider as cars are German cars. I want an RWD car for reasonable price and I hate Mercs...Only thing left is a Beemer. :)

I really like how smooth and tame they are, yet they can unleash a huge herd of ponies! Just fabolous.

So, yeah, I really don't give a damn about BMW's reputation.

I recently bought a 325 e36, love it, its awesome, no rattles creaks or broken trim anywhere, really smooth and easy to drive, but with 200odd bhp it batters most other newer cars:D
