How do people know the driver's a chav?

Stereotyping as he's driving a Corsa, you know just like all Fabia drivers are old duffers. :D

I'm gobsmacked that bikes and cars go out on the ring at the same time!!!!

Because the ring is currently classified as a public road, it even appears on normal road maps. To apply restrictions implies the ring has become a track and with it all the fuss that this causes with regard to insurance, health and safety and such like.

Hmmm.... my Grandad has a mobility scooter that he's insured to go on public roads too... Still have a feeling I might get a few raised eyebrows if I tried to send him out on the ring!!! :P:P

Should have allowed bikers a three minute start before releasing 4 wheel vehicles. Bikers versus cars is a recipe for disaster, just an accident looking for somewhere to happen.

Most policies exclude "derestricted one-way toll roads" so it's a very touchy subject :thumbdwn:
and thats why unless your policy specifically names the ring in the restrictions you will be insured,as its not a de restricted toll road, there are speed limits

Where are the speed limits gary?

My policy exempts Nordschleif (sp?)

They're only on the approach to the exits I think... other than that is it unrestricted. :)

EDIT: I knew I remembered reading it somewhere.. Ben Lovejoy 5th paragraph in.. :)

I think the slowest vehicles I have seen on the ring are big tour coaches, they are also permitted to lap the ring. Imagine driving at speed, taking a corner and being confronted with a tour coach doing 30mph as it struggles up one of the big inclines.

90kph at briedshief and 90kph on the run down to the barriers, one of the marshals was saying that tht was the way most folk who haveaccidents end up getting paid out.

Does anyone know what the camera car was?

Corsa C, and by the dials it was a SRi. 125hp 1.8 16v.

The bikers, in my opinion, were asking for trouble there. The M3 got by and away, the 911 recognised the dodgy driving and left him be. The bikers just kept coming back for more.

Why on earth do they let bikes and cars go out at the same time ?????

They let a coach go round when I was there a few years back
