I saw a mint Lancia Delta Integrale the other day with the original white Oz wheels.

Looked very tasty. Was one of my "i'm having one when i pass my test" cars. Cost me £1500 3rd party only on a 1.2 Nova, so ney chance of that then. Would still love one though.

The S2 is a good car and a hoot to drive. It's very basic in design, the ABS is primative and there's no power steering. The rear arches can rust and the floor can need weilding in parts but it is a 18 year old car. Having been a RS owner for the past 4 years ( I had my first RS 12 years ago) they are a lot of fun. Would I pay £5k for a mint S2. No is the simple answer. Most RS''s are now looked after and there are plenty of nice examples out there. How many other hot hatches from the 80's do you still see besides the mk2 Golf GTi? As said there are a lot better cars out there for that kind of money. But it depends on what you want.

My 1st car was a Mk1 Golf 1300 CL. Made the big mistake of selling it for a Polo Coupe S (I was 18, it was 1988 and I knew it all) I would love a mint M1 Gti.

Always liked the S2 but if it were my money it would be the S1 (or maybe the rs1700) Of course there are better cars out there, but i think thats missing the point a bit. Like it or hate it it is a bit of an iconic car and the time these were about was very exciting. All sorts of hot hatches were popping up (bit like now really) on a daily basis. 205gti, 5 turbo, Starda 130tc's, uno turbo, Astra GTE, Delta HF, Golf GTi. etc etc. I'd have any of them for a play about. BUT not as my daily runaround. :)

The point for me is that it's a nice example and yes, it was a bit of an icon in its day. But is it worth 5k? Not to me it isn't.

My 1st car was a 1.6 capri,but always wanted a 2,8i but couldn't afford the insurance at the time
