Hi there,

I'm busy enjoying my 3rd month with my late 53 plate Octavia vRS estate, and was not planning to make any mods until i started looking on this site! Had no idea there is so much to consider!! I'm very tempted with the ecu-evolutions remap, and dont want to spend silly amounts on the car for now, but is there anything that i really need to do before the remap to save future problems?

Many thanks in advance,

Dan

P.S. Rob Clubley, awesome car mate, looks the dogs!!!!

I said the same thing back in early 2003, and I was right....

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda :D

That's the same thing I said...

Noooooooooooo !!!!!

These cars, and for sure this site, should come with a health (and wealth) warning!!!

Quick question tho, does the temptation to spend ever stop???

I have corrected the quote, and the temptation never stops. :o

Welcome aboard, and the temptation stays, the money goes

Welcome to the madhouse

And the answer is of course no! But then it's more fun that way, and you can't take it with you

Welcome to Briskoda, I was the same, I have now spent a bit on the car as well on mods to change the car.

Hello! :wave23d: What they all said!

welcome aboard, yup I'm in the same boat - I'm forever arguing with my wife and its always Brisky's fault!

Hiya. Yeah, we do seem to have that effect on people.

Nice to see another VRS estate on here - you should be fine with a remap on a standard car without anything else first - nothing that really has to be done as you already have nice big brakes on the vrs....

I bought mine already done with a remap and a few other bits and pieces - have managed to resist the temptation to do anything else although I quite fancy a new set of wheels at the moment as mine are looking a bit worse for wear now.....

What colour have you got? Theres a few pics of estates (inc mine) in this old thread:-

Hiya joby, mine estate is red, totally standard at the moment appart from a few Ayrton Senna and Silverstone screen graphics, maybe a briskoda one will be my first cheap mod!!!! :D

Sounds good - further to my previous post I was reading that some remappers will advise/insist on an uprated dump valve (mine has a Forge 007P) before a map, but then again I have read that they use the same dump valve on the more powerful VAG turbos so the stock one should easily be able to cope with the extra power.

Keep us posted on your progress

Good choice and welcome. My old vRS was an 03 Corrida Red Mk1 Estate... wish I'd never got rid.

Hiya, i'm loving the skoda so far, can't see me wanting to change for a while!!! The audi not a good move then?????

I used to run a 2.0TFSI Sline A4 saloon and the vRS Octy Combi. But I got divorced last year and they both had to go to pay for some of it. Only just got back into a B7 A4.

Hello and welcome.
