Wax on black trim

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've got quite a lot of (paint) wax on the black door stops/side strips etc, I was a bit careless with my application last week due to lousy weather. How best to clean the trim, I don't need it perfect, but black instead of blue would probably be a good thing :)

Regards,

Richard.

Peanut oil (or even smooth peanut butter) will bring plastic trim back to looking like new.

Peanut butter

Preferably smooth :D

Agitate with a nail brush and wash off before the neighbourhood cats and dogs appear

Try an eraser - honest!

I'll give that a try if I have one, I know I don't have any peanut butter at the moment!

Try cleaning foam (or APC) with toothbrush...

If you've got a nut allergy try AutoGlym Bumper Care, it is the dogs danglies for getting polish off your trim!

No-one will be trying to lick your plastics after you've used it either!!! :D

:iagree: It looks like Elephant snot, but it does the trick :D

yup, Auto Glym Bumper Care will shift it

AG tyre dressing or back to black also good for removing stuff off the trim.

When have you ever seen elephant snot?

I find this stuff only masks the wax, and after a few downpours it is washed off.
