dial-up ISP

Featured Replies

Ok guys well I received an email the other day noting that the ISP (Constructionplus) I have my home email accounts with and also those of my mum and sister is ceasing to exist at the end of the month.

Not too much of a problem for me as I'm on Broadband with Virgin and have simply swapped across - although it is a hassle having to let everybody know that my email address now ends in something different.

However, my mum and sister are still on dial-up so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for free/cheap dial up access and email. Mum is a minimal user but my sister is a heavy user and has been thinking of going broadband anyway to save money.

I was thinking of cheap and cheeful Tesco PAYG for mum but any suggestions would be welcome...

for email i would go with google mail, yahoo or hotmail every time, dont bother with the one the ISP gives you as your bound to want to change ISP at some point. I personally prefer google mail to the others.

tell your sister, stop messing about and get broadband :P, its dirt cheap nowadays anyway. As for the dial up, tesco seems as good as any!

get a domain name so your address can stay the same regardless of ISP and get a cheap broadband package which will be cheaper than dial up over a month.

D-i-a-l-u-p? I-a know not what-a you mean?

Thank for the comments guys - a domain is definitely worth thinking about so may give that a whirl. I thinnk I've also just about managed to pursuade my sister to go Broadband and I've now got my mum set up via TEscos!
