Aarrrgggghhhhh !

Featured Replies

ive only had it a few weeks and already someone has opened their door into it !!!

before this there wasnt a single dent, ding, or crease on the whole car, my rear bumper needs a spray but parking dings are a pet hate of mine and this has really annoyed me !

must have happened last night when me and the mrs and a few friends went to Frankie and Bennys, the car park is a big one on a retail site

ive already contacted Tony @ Cherished Car Care who is gonna sort it for me this coming week

Unlucky :( very similar damage occurred to my passenger door a number of weeks back, and nobody up here will sort it out

If I had caught the *%£$& who did it....

Hope it gets sorted properly for you.

i *think* this might come out fine, its just about not damaged the OE horizontal crease line along the door, but i wont know til next week

Sounds hopeful.

That sounds exactly like my dent. How will it repaired, fill and re-paint or will they be able to ''massage'' the dent out if you know what I mean? I'll be taking my car to the mainland soon, and want to sort out the only damn imperfection the car has

paintless dent repair mate, will be massaged from behind, im just hoping there is nothing in the location of the crease behind the panel that will prevent a 'massage' job from being done

Thanks, good to know.

Good luck

As much as it probably annoys alot of people, when parking i try and find 2 spaces together and park in the middle of them.

Ive not had any car park dents in my year of ownership.

Must be doing somthing correct.

As for the guy that opened his door and let it bounce off my freshly painted wing mirror.

I fet like going crazy at him, but i just had a word in his ear.

Bunch of retards that do this.

ive weighed up parking in 2 spaces, but i thought it might result in more severe damage, full car keying or someone booting the car etc

:( washed the car and Tony has been round for a look, there is a fine scratch above the damage, but sadly it doesnt look like a scratch, it looks like a fine crack in the clear coat :( :( :(

Sorry to hear about it. Exact same thing happened to my car when parked next to a Leon Cupra! Manage to get it repaired 100% for not much cash.

Problem then is some people may vandalise your car for doing that.

I just park far from the shop (or whatever) and try tp park on an end space, away from everyone else. Failing that, alway park next to a well looked after car, never an MPV.

If folk want to vandalise the car i would happen to vandalise their face.

Thing is that they wont know if there was someone parked dodgy next to you when you parked.

Ive never had a problem with it anyway.

And i will keep on parking like that. :)

its my pet hate too and thanks to an obnoxious 4x4 owner i have a dent in nsf door not too noticable only when its clean. will prbably try out the dry ice method at some point. i do now drive around a car park looking for a big space so there wont be much chance of being dented or end up with jean scatches down the side. Its just a pity others dont have the same sense of respect for other peoples property.

Fair enough, if you catch them.

i normally park miles away, or over 2 spacs miles away, dont do it near to the door of a shop or people might get annoyed. At braehead though i parked miles away before, there was not a car near me then i came back out the car park was full, nd had 2 cars jammed up next to me parke at stupid angles, was raging but no dents luckily!

I've had my car key'd twice and one of the time I know it happened at work so I ALWAYS use two spaces. some people complain so I ask them to pay for the 10" long scratch on my bonnet!

As much as I hate people who bang the sides of cars with doors etc and then drive off I do not believe behaving in another socially wrong way really helps. Two wrongs do not make a right as they say. Parking across 2 spaces is and can be a very selfish act. Many times I have been in busy car parks and not been able to find a space due to people parking incorrectly (very annoying). Everyone has a right to park in the car park (the same way we have a right not to have our cars damaged while parked there). I have similar issues with people parking in disabled or mother/baby spaces for the same reasons (often see 2 seater cars etc. parked in both sorts of spaces-not disabled nor have kids). It is about time we all got more socially responsible instead of just looking out for number 1!!!!

I will not change my ways about parking across 2 spaces.

I like you dont like when i see non disabled people parking in diabled spaces.

That bugs me.

But i cant do anything about it.

Noone is ever going to be happy with other people's actions.

Its just a way of life.

my opinions vary when I see cars hogging two spaces...

- if its a nice car - i think that the owner is trying to avoid the car-park-dint, so fair play

- if its a shed - i think the opposite.

unlucky about the dint - it'll come out I'm sure.

I always try to park at the end of a row ,never with cars either side of me and certainly never near a kiddiemobile - with the wheels at least on the white line at the outside .I know it's chancing a "Penalty notice " -but those are only civil -so good chance of getting out of them .Ignoring abuse is cheaper than someone's crap parking and the damage it does .

Why should mother and toddlers have thier own spaces, disable yes,but with the kids overweight and getting no exercise, why should they park near the entrance. The walk from the otherside of the car park would do them good

Quite agree -what I'd liketo see is spaces for "those that like to keep their car decent " and some for "Larger vehicles" --far enough away so that they can't park next to me .

Now getting to stage that sometimes best bet is to wait till grankid is here and take them with us

sorry to hear about your dent,i always try to park in an end space so there's only a car on one side of me.

Also i never park next to a 4x4 or an mpv(drives my much better half mad)

hope you get it sorted

dave

I would agree that mother and baby do not need to be near the door. However the extra width makes life much easier to get your baby out of the car (can open the door wide without risk of hitting another car). I would actually like to see these spaces put further away from the shop so that less people who do not need to use them use them.

Imagine the problems if we all parked across 2 spaces. As I stated above there is no justification to carry out antisocial behaviour because of someone elses antisocial behaviour. It is amasing how people justify antisocial behaviour to placate their own conscious. If you take up 2 spaces someone may try to squeese into the space left. If they then hit your car they would justify their action of not owning up by saying that you deserved it due to your poor parking and not leaving enough space. At what point does this madness end or do we all just look out for number 1 and sod everyone else!!!!!!!
