Evening All

To cut a long story short, i am looking for a contisport 205 50 17.

I have a brand new one on from spare, and hoping to get one for the other side to match.

After searching, i emailed several companies, and one came up with the following advice which i am not sure about, anyone else heard of this?

see below.......

Thank you for contacting us,

The Continental Sport Contact is no longer produced in a 205/50/17 only the newer Sport 2 and Sport 3 are available. Although the new versions are different tread patterns, all are based on the same design and are completely compatible with each other.

Please let us know if you are interested in either of the newer Continental tyres.

Best Regards

Anyway, i wont name the company as that not the point, just thought can different versions be used? i not sure about it.

Thanks

I've never been a fan of mixing tyres, but some people do. It's a psychological thing for me, thinking that there is an imbalance of grip across the axle. Ultimately it's up to you I guess.

noway, i just sold a set of 4 of the contisports for just over 80 quid, they were all good to , with alot of life damit :orb_sad:

sorry mate, have you peeked on ebay? there may be some still floating about,,

hunt down all the ones that cam from the octy rims that go on the furbies

sorry to be useless

I dare say mixing doesn't really matter but I'd never like to risk it.... that and brakes.

I managed to use my existing spare like you and found another (on this forum) so I'm happy with two conti sports on the front atm.

I'll probably end up getting two conti 2 or 3's for the rear when they're due in 12 months.

I would have thought that using a 2 or 3 year old tyre along side a new one will be as bad as having two different tyres. 'You pays your money and takes your choice.'

Both tyres would be new and unused just the difference in tread i am wary off.

Prob a call to continental to see me thinks!
