Deer Oh Dear

Featured Replies

Ahh that's not too bad. I thought you were going to say that you woke up this morning and someone had painted your wheels green!! :P

PMSL ohhh that did make me chuckle :D

Sorry to see your fabia in such a state :(

Please tell me you picked it up and sold the b'stard on!

Offset some of your excess!

Everyone knows it's poaching if you do that.... of course if the car behind you does it then it's ok ;)

Finally I've done some work to the car. Pulled a lete one couple weeks ago at work and got her all stripped down, fixed a few bent bits and test fitted the new wing and bumper, looking good so far. The new Rad surround/mount is on as is the h/light. New bumpers been rubbed down and ready for paint on monday, same with the grill, x 2! Just need things painted and fitted back on, and an intercooler. Took plenty of pics for your enjoyment too:

No time at all you say! 4weeks and 4days. Anyway, progress at last!! After a long time waiting for the FMIC it finally arrived last night, so got stuck into it this morning at 8am. 3weeks and plenty pennies later and Forge still managed to screw up the hose colour, got red instead of black, but doesn't look too bad. Still a few bits to tidy up and sort but she's back on the road! YEEHAAA!!

So what do ya's think?!

Still a few little bit's to do, like new bumper guides as you might see the bumper doesn't sit quite right and the wing and bonnet don't line up correctly either, still a dent in the bonnet. Both front fogs are gone as one is smashed, I think it looks quite cool like that though. And... Also got a spare grill which is black instead of chrome. And I got the center of the grill and the plastic bits in the bumper painted. WIP!

hard luck fellow invernesian..farrr too many deer around here, we seriously need a cull.

cant say ive seen you around, i would have noticed the wheels :orb_laugh

only jokin..each to their own

Looking good mate, nearly blinded by the shinyness of the chrome on your grill!

Sorry to hear this.

Hope it all gets fixed soon.

Must have been a scary moment.

Folks, nothing wrong with green wheels.

Do they match your green wellies?

Ohh dear indeed ! Doesnt look too bad so hopefully it wont cost too much to fix :D

My brother hit a deer a few years ago and it basically ripped the front end off the car off

Personally I'd remove the pic of the deer, it doesnt look nice !

sorry to hear that. a place i use to work each of the employees coming from where i live on the 20-25 mile drive ended up being involved with deers. a front car, another through the side of the car and one swerving to avoid one and totalled it. im very warey on that road because of them.

Been down that DEAR route before, DO NOT repeat DO NOT go through insurance if you can help it

Insurance is just a Loan shark, They pay upfront then you pay for LIFE for the convenience of the loan

I was naive enought to think insurance was what you paid incase you had an unfortunate incident, then you were insured and it was fixed

In reality insurance is an expensive loan to pay for the initial damage to get you mobile then you pay back six times what you borrowed

Even the briskoda recomended insurer on this site will not touch you unless you have five years no claims (well they will but at enhanced rates)

I had a visit from a Deer (Fife) and was naieve enought to think oh insured I will claim,

The repair private was £350 but as I was insured I CLAIMED big mistake

The rapair insurance cost was £750 I lost all my no claims bonus and my increased premiums so far have cost £1800

So in reality insurance is a loan shark out to make massive profits from peoples misfortunes

My thoughts on insurance were fivethousand people put into the pot and if someone is unfortuante then it paid out, and at the end of the year the insurer kept the excess

Not so

Five thousand people put into the pot and the insurer keeps the lot and claims all the claim made by the unfortunate accident claimant plus 700% back off him

The only real benefit is if you unfortuante enough to kill someone

If you wrote off your car then they would replace it at bottom book price, but increased premiums would cost you £25k over a period of time so best just not to inform them and take a loan out

If someone hit and runs you then off course it is your fault and an at fault premium is placed on your renewal a bit like BANKERS really

Glad you are not injured and you are getting on with the rebuild yourself

National

There was me looking at the sign in my butcher's window "Licenced to deal in WILD GAME " - and wondering why the game would be wild .Then I

Oh -well that explaines the sign in my butcher's window -or rather the "WILD " bit in the "Licenced to deal in wild game " thingy - well you'd be a bit miffed (possibly wild )if you were sitting at the roadside having lunch/breakfast /whatever ,minding you're own business and these noisy things sttred to flash by frightening the life out of you .No wonder they jump out .Next thing we'll have some legal bod out to make a killing in compensation for upsetting these kindly beasts .:rolleyes:;).Possibly find they've got a stake ( or steak, or haunch ) in the business too

Nice work in getting her back into shape, had a cousin destroy his Ford Sierra in much the same way.

Ahh that's not too bad. I thought you were going to say that you woke up this morning and someone had painted your wheels green!! :P

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Is that classed as 'an act of God' which the insurance wont pay out on? Hope not.

Does that mean you can sue the church for compo then?
