Wendy tested one last weekend, absolute cracker of a car. Should be finalising the order this weekend but struggling with colour choice. Just wondered if anyone else is looking at them & what their thought are.

Choices are Red, White, Black, Grey & Pearl white.

The Black just dosent suit the car, the Grey looks like laquered primer which leaves classic Red or White or the Pearl White. Wendys always had bad experiences with red cars & it will be her car so thats out leaving White or Pearl White.

The snag is because we placed an order last year we are entitled to one of the first 200 which are all specced by Abarth, they are all the same, White, with full leather, Larger Alloys, climate etc etc, all the options we want. If we go for Pearl its a factory order, having preorderd we jump the queue at the factory but it could still be a 12-16 week wait.

The Dealers been good & has aranged to get a Pearl one next to a white one on Saturday but I think it will still be a hard call.

Pearl (they call it funky white) is also a £700 extra

Has anyone else seen the cars & have any thoughts

If anyone wants a 2006 Superb PM me, I will be putting it up on here once I have a PX price from the dealer, I would rather someone on here avoided the dealers profit

Its got to be the classic white with the red detailing. Are you going to get the SS upgrade?

I would go for the Abarth spec'd version. Think they are a little bit more special and could command a bit better money when it comes to selling it. The 500 is a cracking wee car.

None that I know of, you even pay list for the extras but they are what we would have chosen anyway, only thing missing is a dipping mirror but the dealer said he will sort that.

essesse upgrade can be fitted anywhen in the first 12 months. Personally I think the White or Graphite wheels wont suit a white car & as we will already have 17" alloys on the car I dont see the point of another set.

The kits £2500, the wheels being approx 1000 of that. The Brembo brake upgrade is around 400 for the parts & the sprimgs 150 ish. Air Filter £40, That just leaves the essesse badge & the ecu flash & the Labour to fit it all. Already I gather people are working on remaps & Im guessing should you want it they will wring more out of the car than the Abarth upgrade. Only plus point to the kit is that its warrantied but we will have 12 months for Wendy to decide what she (we) want

Neighbour has a white 500. Does look very nice, the colour suits the car well.

I seem to remember they were all left hookers and one row of the paddock was full of all colours.

They are quite cute but I would need one for each foot.

There is only one colour for a real 500 Arbarth, and that's grey with red stripes!

red!!! red gets my vote... if its the same red as mine, its really nice when clean... remember its not a solid read, its a metallic red.... I love fiats in red did I mention Red?

white defo white or maybe get the white i live near mangoletsi so seen a few and the white looks best , abarth spec 1 has gotta be a good choice as well limited edition and more desirable.

Looked at the White against the pearl white & the Pearl just wasnt that special, Wendy actually didnt like it. It certainly didnt look £700 special. The demo car also looked a bit blotchey, it might have been a bad one or been toucherd up but dosent bode well.

So Wendys taken the Launch car she already had allocated.

I want to test drive the 2 seater version due out soon, if its any good i will trade current 500 for this new one. ( the pics were in the auto express last week).

Abarths are sold through a seperate dealer network to Fiats so bag a ride in an Abarth as well before you decide, I think you will like it ;)

Stealer will put it on an 09 initially & deliver it a few days before the first, I cant face the pain of swapping plates, DVLA are a bunch of half witted incompetents & every time I have dealt with them they seem to louse it up, we will put the old plate on retention & switch it later
