Fab vRS

Featured Replies

Yesterday evening I was filling my Octy vRS up in the local BP station when a black Fabia vRS pulled up at the pump behind me. The Fabia driver and I got to talking and ended up test driving each others cars. I was very impressed with the Furby. Over the speeds that were practical on the local roads I felt that the Furby actually performed better than my Octy. I actually suspected that the Furby had been chipped but the driver said no.

It has given me something to think about. I will be able to trade the Octy in in about a year with out loosing money on the finance, and I am now thinking that with the fuel efficiency matched with fun factor, that the Furby vRS may be the better package! Still impressed with the Octy mark 2 130bhp TDI idea as a replacement. Oh well keeps life interesting.

Yes William a very interesting post, which explains why so many people have answered it, and why it appeared in 3 forums, then disapered, then reappered in this one ???

For obvious reasons I have removed your duplicate posts, and left this one in General. I might have moved it around a bit too, just to amuse myself on a cold Monday afternoon...

yes I know, it is Tuesday, but it just doesn't feel like one :P

Trouble is, I only ever posted in Briskoda General ??? I think your server is haunted :)

William, I removed the duplicate one in the Fabia forum - which was timed later (ie 10:01) than the one which originally started in General at circa 09:24 IIRC but has miraculously restarted at 12:38.

William, is your car Irish spec - if so, then I can understand why you might be looking at a more direct comparison - no climate control, 16" wheels, etc...

The Fabia vRS is a great car, and I'd definately have one for the Mrs if it didn't have those light-grey seats. I've had enough of cleaning silly light-coloured seats. PLEASE Skoda, do full leather on the new Octy vRS!

My Octy is UK spec, in fact it was originally registered in England (it was 11 months old when I bought it). I am not saying that the Furby vRS is a better car than the Octy, but it still is nice and to be honest the fuel bills for the Octy are high (I do approx 22K miles a year) so I had already been considering a change to a new Octy TDI as soon as the financing on the current vRS allows. However the Furby vRS would give me a bit of both worlds.

The Furbie VRs is a very attractive package apart from the upholstery. :)

what did he thikn to the octy..?

Well, if you're doing that much mileage, then it's making even more sense. But have you considered an Octavia TDI? You can get nice Elegance and L&K spec Octys, about 1 year old, for the asking price of a Fabia vRS.

The Furby driver was a girl actually. She liked the Octy but said it was to big for her liking.
