My Black Fabia vRS arrives tomorrow about mid day, and i'm on night shift so will need to get out of bed and stick it in the garage for now, or perhaps i'll just sleep in the back of it for the rest of the day. :P

Im jealous! what does VRS stand for? sports/diesel - sports whatever? is it the model rally drivers have - i dont even know what MPI after my Classic (no central locking Im missing)1 .4 means - I'll have a guess Multiple Petrol Injection..........am I right?

Believe it's multi-point injection, ie 16v, compared to the SPI single point injection of the 8v?

 the 1.4 MPI is an 8v IIRC

Bad luck mate.

If it makes you feel any better, your missin a crackin drive :D

the RS stands for Rally Sport, like the Ford RS, but the v stands for victory when Ford took Skoda to court over using the RS brand on their cars, and Skoda won so plonked the little "v" in front of the "RS" - nice little story I thought!

Edit: Alex - I should hope you can IIRC... You drove one for a while! ;)

Ah dammit - need more sleep ;) anyway, MPI does indeed stand for multi-point injection, but both 8v and 16v have that :)

As indeed the later 1.3L Felicia was MPI. Despite being 1.3 rather than 1.4 this was basically the same engine as the 8V 1.4 Fabia engine.

As a Nothern Irisher I still find these big days for new car ownership bizare. Over here you buy your new car when you want it as the registration numbers are not related to year, and when cars are being sold second hand it is by year of registration, ie 1999 Skoda Octavia 1.6LX blah blah blah. Funnily enough this has never caused a rush to buy cars for dleivery and registration in January.

Fowlerwalsh & all you new owners, having seen the seats.

I am looking for interested people, to do a group buy for Simoniz teflon care for the seats and carpet. Normally

is the Simoniz teflon care any good?
