It's what happens when the engine decides to let go on a track day, However don't get too concerned, because it was as a result of ill-advised tuning rather than inherent weakness in the AUQ unit! We live and learn

Here is pics of mine.

Started with triming the cover to stop the Forge DV rubbing, then took off cover and started polishing a few items. Then a few Silicon hoses came along.

Looks good to me!

Couple of questions if you don't mind...

What turbo are you running?

And does your catch tank breather vent to atmosphere, or back into the intake?

I can also see a plugged vac hose next to where the vac reservoir used to be. Are you running without an N249? Any other mods to the vac system?

Sorry for being a nosey git, it's just interesting to know what other members are running.

Its currently on a GT2871R .64, The catch tank vents to atmosphere under the car next to sump, It does not run N249 now but iam sure it is still there somewhere, but i have examined this properly since buying the car. I think the Vacuum system is bare minimum.

Cheers for that. I'm thinking of venting the catch tank to atmosphere when I've fitted one. And also gutting the vacuum system at some point. Probably remove the secondary air system at the same time.

Simple is best!

Sorry to continue OT but if it vents to atmosphere do you actually need a catch tank?

Yeah i see what your saying, but yeah i think its there to catch any excess oil that comes through the breather system. I much prefer to vent to atmosphere as i dont want my engine burning crap. Also will stop alot of oil build up in the boost circuit.

When i bought the Octy mine was just vented out onto the top of the gearbox, what a mess it had made, since it is now under the car. Also when i emptied the catch tank it was full of crap, oily sludge and water. :thumbdwn:

Rugged engine bay! Note the rust effect speed hole in the offside wing. 1324cc, Weber twin choke downdraft carb, K&N filter, modified inlet manifold and head, Janspeed tubular manifold and stainless system. Loud as hell, and sounds like war on over-run! Woof!
