Octavia 4x4 gear ratios.

Featured Replies

old thread i know... but does anyone have the final drive ratio for these boxes...?

or any other varients of the boxes... that i could swap bits with?

So can anyone work out what the theoretical top speed is in a 4x4 & take a stab as to what the speedo is likely to show. My guess from experience is a whisker over 140 with 150 indicated

Also the rev limiter can be raised when a car's mapped if anyones interested, Mike did mine & I havent hit it yet, am begining to wonder just how high it is !!,

been told a lot of people in the state raise the limiter to 7500 but this moves the stock turbo so far out of envelope that it does little good....

Theoretically, at 6800rpm it would be 147mph or 155+ on the speedo.

In practice, just on a true 140 (estate!)

Good question actually - is anyone taking a radar gun to Brunters and closing the circuit for individual high speed runs on the main straight at lunchtime ?

Mind you I always come away disappointed as its from a standing start.

(Impreza only made a true 139 last time)
