just a quick one to see if anyone has had or can help with my problem... on acceleration no matter whether it be hard or soft the car pulls left and when letting off it pulls to the right. its getting worse and the wife wont even entertain driving it. it is booked into the garage sat morn but anyones help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Broken spring(s)/tie rods or you have hit a bump and knocked the tracking well out would be my guess.

Someone here might be able to give you more precise info.

silly comment im sure but could it be driveshaft related?

Sounds more like a worn bush to me....

sounds to me like the lower front suspension arm rear bushes are worn out! had the same fault on a friends vw polo & the bush had separated from the arm.:)

Yup, I would say worn wishbone bushes too. Had a Mk2 Fiesta XR2 that did exactly the same...

It's pretty much got to be one of wishbone bushes or lower ball joints gone, geometry miles out, and uneven tyre wear.

I'd get the wishbone bushes and ball joints checked first, because it they've gone they will put the geometry out, and cause uneven tyre wear. If they're ok, move on to getting a full geometry check, not just a tracking check, because again a wrong geometry can cause uneven tyre wear.

its had 2 new wishbones fitted recently. called in at the garage earlier and there is a bolt thats broke its captive nut on the drivers side wishbone so its not tight and is wearing away and the mechanic seems to think its that whats causing it to pull all over road??

That would do it too, but it's so uncommon relative to the other problems that you'd never suggest it as a diagnosis. Any half-way competent mechanic checking bushes should spot a floaty subframe mount though (and he did).
