cheap power steering sensor ...

Featured Replies

I was looking on ebay and found this...

SKODA FABIA POWER STEERING WIRING HARNESS OE NEW on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-Mar-09 19:13:51 GMT)

It looks like its a power steering angle sensor for a very cheap price even though the description doesn't mention that it is.

The part code does seem to match the one from jhmbuttco, although slightly different.

602423291.... jhmbuttco have a Q instead of the 0.

What do you guys think? Is it just a wiring loom like it says or does the sensor actually come with the wiring all in one?

Anyway I put a best offer price of £16 in. Waiting for a response.

Sounds like the correct part. At £20.00 I've taken the plunge

Just hope it solves my flickering light problem......

is the only other place you can get these sensors the dealer?

The dealer wants £100 for an exchange unit...

I thought the new part was not remanufactured....

Anyway..I bought one £19 all in...not bad...:D

I have now had this part fitted by Fletcher Bros (Halifax). No more flickering lights .

I would recommend this garage to anyone in West Yorkshire. They used to be a franchised dealer. I took the car in for an initial assessment where they gave it the once over and hooked it up to their vagcom. Total charge £ 0.00 :D.

When I took it back a week later ( I was waiting for the angle sensor to come in the post ) , I was charged £ 37.50 for the fitting of the angle sensor, and £ 80.00 for them to supply and fit a coil spring.

Finally a garage that I feel are going to do a good job for a reasonable price.......And friendly with it.

Well done Fletcher Brothers.

I fitted the sensor myself. It took around 40 minutes. :)

The flickering lights/ whistling sound is now gone, although the lights do dim when turning the steering..(must be a weak battery).

Fitting was quite easy.... I used metal ramps which gave easy and safe access to the sensor. The sensor is easily removed and replaced in 5 minutes but routing the wiring takes the majority of the time.
