dirty door cards

Featured Replies

had some work done yesterday and now the silver material (both sides are marked with what looks like oil) and the dash and glove box and grey carpet are also dirty what should i clean them with or should i just go back to dealer for the 5th time in a week  to be honest not keen on their attitude and sloppy work:(

When this happened to mine, it was oil on the drivers door card, I used some armour-all wipes which I got from halfords. These seem to remove the oil and transfer it to the wipe rather than moving it around. They also worked magic on the white part of the drivers seat.

Take it back for sure.

If a dealer causes a problem, they should fix it IMO.

Yeah, go back and complain until they get things straightened out, then vote with your feet and use another dealer...

i am not taking it back there again i'm sure it wouldn't be straight forward as they'll say it wasn't them :( might try those wipes though

Thing is, if you make it worse, you have no comeback. If it were me, I'd take it back and they WOULD sort it. And if they couldn't, then they WOULD be paying to have it professionally done.

Just spotted the title to this thread and had puerile thoughts so had to post to see if anyone else had noticed!

You think that was puerile. You should have been on the 'cottaging' thread earlier in the week :D

Nat,

The Armor-All wipes are good. I assume I've used the same ones as mannyo. Can't remember what they're called, something like Tough Wipes but they specifically mention carpets and upholstery on the packaging.

I'm going to give those wipes a go too as my doorcards have become discoloured in places. Can't get much worse in any case.
