L.C.D. Odometer Problem

Featured Replies

I have recently experienced an intermittant fault with the Speedometer LCD display for trip and total mileage.

On 2 occasions the upper and lower most horizontal LCD lines have disappeared from the display.

On the 1st occasion the display was fine when I left the car, only to find the lines absent from the display the following morning. However on pressing the trip reset knob the display returned to normality.

On the 2nd occasion the display was fine until I started the engine, when the display immediately lost the upper and lower lines. They came back on after driving some 2-3 miles without any intervention from myself.

Anybody had similar display problems. Could it be a loose / bad connection somewhere or indication of an impending display failure:(

Did this happen after a particularly cold night?

LCD's are prone to this type of thing after being exposed to low temperatures.

Just keep an eye on it, if it persists get it looked at ;)
