Tyres/Oil - questions??

Featured Replies

Reading some of the various threads here it seems that a few (if not all) of you have Michelin tyres as standard, and dont rate them as much.

How come then that my new furby vRS came with Continental 'Sport Contact II' tyres?????? Am i the exception or have Skoda rolled out all 54 plates with this tyre?

AND please can someone tell me the EXACT engine oil needed. It is not variable servicing (I dont think) and is due its first service at 10,000 miles. I thought to ask yesterday but it escaped my mind in the excitement.

Thanks as always guys

See the Millars site for details of there oil that is unique for vw tdi's (XFE-PD). Personally I swear by this stuff as it is a damm sight cheaper than skoda's and easilly lasts 10000 hard use, have gone to 15000 with no problems with the mechanics suprised how good it looked!

Somewhere else on here a few months back it was mentioned that Continentals are now fitted - interesting to see if they are any opinions or 'proof' that they are 'better' than the Michelin fitted on others.

It might be they just got a better deal from Continental this time around.

I had the Conti's fitted to my Fabia TDi when it was new in 2001. When I got a puncture this rear I replaced it for the same, they offer a good wear/grip and price rate

Mine came fitted with Dunlop Sport SP200s on my Fabia 1.9TDI. They've done the job well even if they are slightly more expensive than other brands. Expect to pay around
