What tyres do you think SEAT will fit to Fabia?

Featured Replies

Just bought a 07 VRS SE and they are replacing the tyres (at no extra cost).

Any idea what kind of tyres do you think a SEAT dealer will put on...I forgot to ask!

Thanks

Whatever the cheapest they can lay their hands on, they're not tyre specialists after all.

Mind you I have found in the past that main dealers often use half decent brands. Maybe not Pirellis or Contis but Avons and Bridgestones.

How long is a bit of string?

I'd guess Events

Takanka Butterflies or Wan-li ditchfinders i'd wager.

Wan-li ditchfinders i'd wager.

 I've got a set of those on my VRS (not my choice only had it a month)

They did get f***ing hot when I put it on the rolling road got very sticky

Ditchfinders! That name doesn't sound very promising :(

Probably Nipponese Never Grips, made from the finest Bakelite!!

I'm guessing they will be Round, and Black ..... possibly with grooves and such in the portion that comes into contact with the road. They will almost certainly be the type that have air inside.

happy to help :)

Skoda stuck Kleber ones on mine.... bang tidy ... not

in my experience, they will put the cheapest possible tyre on for you, personally id ring them up and tell them you dont want the car unless they put proper tyres on it

Klebers aren't too bad actually.

Fullruns or Sunnys FTW

I think that they were original equipment on VWs back in the late 80's.

Probably better than the Matadors that the Outlaws new Polo was delivered on when she bought it!

My mate has Sunnys on the front of his Mondeo ST TDCI - they are hilariously bad, and just won't die!! Done about 20k on them I think and look like new

Fullruns are aweful, even on normal accelerating in first and second on a wet road they spin, absolutely pants, im using Accelera ATR Sports at the minute and they aint that bad :D

I'd guess Events

Half as long as twice the length :D

Although no a vRS, the car place put 4 new tyres on my car when i requested the spare was changed. So instead of just replacing the spare, they put 4 new ones on and put the best 'old' on the spare. Wish they hadn't no, the fronts had around 10k left, and the rears probably going on 20k. They put some crappy Nexen's on which were reasonable in the dry but in the wet, if you even thought about guffing on the brake lever, the ABS kicked in.

£182 later for 4 Conti EcoContact 3's fitted at sh*tfit and i can't fault them. Although that was with 30% off and minus disposal (nexen's only had around 1500 miles on them so i'll save them for MOT/selling etc).

Doesn't help you in the slightest but thought i'd just share my 2p's worth :)

Yes, I've noticed that "more than a few" VWs come with them on, mind you a few years ago Hankooks were considered a bit suspect - but VAG and Ford seem to use them on new cars - gone are the days of Michelins, Goodyear, Dunlop etc - all these "new to UK" tyres are certified to EU regulations so are deemed fit for use, I suppose its a bit like getting used to seeing French "fan" belts fitted to VAG cars - its called gobalisation I think - which means progress, but not as we like it!
