xbox elite help!!

Featured Replies

hi. i have just bought an xbox elite (120gb) beast of a machine.... but can i play it on a normal television. by that, i mean a tv which weighs a ton and is the size of a house?? if i can, how do i do it??

cheers

Yep, as long as it comes with the standard AV cable. It's just a case of plugging it in with the yellow (composite), red and white cables. If you don't have specific inputs you should be able to get hold of a scart adapter. Quality won't be great but it'll work.

i take it you mena you can't play it on a CRT? just use the scart lead, it does come with one doesn't it? what lead are you trying to use now?

Yes... it should come with a scart cable?

If not you can by one from any games shop.

can you play online games with a flashed xbox 360?

No. Unless the chip can be turned on and off. If you sign on with the chip turned on by mistake M$ will lock your account.

They dont lock the account, they disable the whole xbox and its hardware from being used online, effectivly making it a nice doorstop. Only way out is to buy another non chipped one and recover your gamertag which will still be fine on another console.

It don't think it does to be honest but it can be bought separetely.

Yes.. providing you don't play games that haven't been launched yet..

That used to be the case, but its not any more. Most games now "phone home" when they are started. They will still play as normal online, but there is a sting in the tale. Nearly all games now have an uncopyable bit at a specific point on the DVD, if this is not present when the game is started then the your xbox serial number and liveid are added to microsofts potential ban list.

If you read through the various xbox forums about banning you will find numerous threads about banned consoles that have not played pre-release games.

I'm sure they'll soon find a way to code around that.. ;):)

Pretty sure that it comes with a little adapter to convert composite to scart, if your TV doesn't have composite inputs?

my tv has scart an the yellow red and white inputs too... i'll find a way to play it. as for flashing, i have trolled the forums and found a lot of bad press. waste of money is 200 quid for a doorstep

That's some inaccurate info in this thread regarding flashing.

The bottom line is that no one really knows conclusively what Microsoft check and what can lead to a ban, though there are an accepted list of do's and don'ts.

I've had my flashed console for over 2 years now and have not been banned - as have at least 5 of my friends.

It's an accepted risk - if you're in the least concerned about being banned, don't flash it :)
