SEAT Alloys

Featured Replies

Ok so the search button yealded lots of threads about Recaros and carbon racing items and not a lot about the Fabia's Spanish cousin.

Having pretty much given up on finding Octy Spiders I have spread my search wider across the VAG range.

Personally not a fan of TT Comps (however easy they are to clean!)

Was thinking VW Santa Monicas but the price seems a bit ouch on the sets i've seen.

SeatCupra.net hold one of the largest for sale section ever and there seems to be plenty of choice, however....

...what fits?!

Would probably ant to go to 17" and was thinking either the 10 spokes from the latter more powerful Leon's and the Ibiza Cupra petrol

or maybe the 5 spoke Starfish looking ones from the early Leon Cupra.

Anyone know what will be a simpe bolt on job?

and anyone else fancy photshopping either of the options onto a red Fabia for me?! :D

Thanx

Cliff

Most will fit, if they are 5x100 PCD.............but some SEAT alloys have a different offset & will sit too far in.

While my VRS was in for repair it was sat on a set of Ibiza FR 16's off an 04 plate (5 spoke, not that nice looking) and the offset was really high. The wheels sat really deep in the arches.

I'm sure Ross (lummox) had Cupra R alloys on his Fabia, and they looked spot on.

Will see if i can find the thread.

Is that sorted by spacers or am I on the completely wrong track?!

Yeah you could do it with spacers.

Yeah, they were Euro spec 17" ET38. (UK Cupra R is 18")

Is the Ibiza Cupra not 17" in the same style ?

Is the Ibiza Cupra not 17" in the same style ?

i think they're very similar, but with slightly softer edges. deffo 17's though

17s are the same, but the spokes are a bit kinked to get over the brakes i think.

I recall reading that the Ibiza Cupra alloys have a silly offset...can't add much more info to that though unfortunately.

Why oh why did I ever sell those wheels???

yup those are the ones ^^^^^^^

SURELY they must be easier to find than Octy Spiders

Nope, much rarer than Octy Spiders. Only found (officially) in the UK on run out model Leon FR TDI mk1s, and they don't come up for sale very often as the style suits the car so owners keep 'em.

PM devonutopia as he's thinking about selling a set of his VW Evolo wheels, these look spot on fitted to Fabias and they will come with tyres in the correct size unlike Octy and Leon wheels.

Here's one of mine with Evolos:

And the same style on my Polo GTI (why oh why did I sell that car?!!!???)

Yeah the 17" Cupra wheels were pretty rare. I have only seen that set outside of the late FR wheels, I bought those long before the FR was out.

ah well another idea shot down then.

Given the availability of the "starfish" alloys what about this?!!

opinions please

(about the genreal look of the car rather than my dodgy photoshopping skills!)

I think they'd look quite nice to be honest.

Especially if the car was dropped slightly. :)

I had a set of Leon FR+ 17s very similar to those 17" cupra ones but sold them in the end.

ok well the above mock up has been vitto's by the missus who (and i quote)

"thinks they look bloody awful and why can i not just leave it like it is!"

She just doesn't get it

I've spotted 3 Spiders in a scrappy so may get them and wait for a 4th to pop up.

then get them painted white - (been quoted £280 for all 4 any good?)

and then save for the rubber! :(

£280 for 4 is quite steep.

Average seems to be around £180-190 for 4, powder coated though, not sure if painting is more expensive.

I get four painted and tyre remove and refit for £150.
