VRS green caliper paint

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any idea where I can buy the VRS green caliper paint or what the paint code is for it?

Thanks in advance...

Hammertie Smooth Green is almost spot on and looks great.

Just bought 6 tins for £10 on ebay.

Thanks guys...

The official colour is Minz Green but the Hammerite is spot on.

wow, that was good value.

Apart from Ebay, does anyone know where to get Light Green Hammerite from nowadays as it seems to have been discontinued? Also, how much would you need to do both calipers decently? I'm guessing that the Dark Green isn't close to the oe colour, although i've not seen a green vRS caliper for a while now.

And how easy is it to apply? I'm assuming you need to use something to clean the calipers up first, yes? Haven't taken the calipers off an octy before, and although it was a piece of p*ss on my golf, I don't want to damage anything when i'm only 6 months into my warranty!

Sorry about the questions, it's just a VERY tempting cheap mod and if I do it, I want to get it right first time!

which golf did you have? shouldnt be a great deal of difference

Also does any one know which paint for red? I thinks my passat could do with some being as its the same 312mm setup as the vRS

MkII G60 Edition One in Aubergine, a tip top car which I do partly miss.

Ah, one further thing: smooth or hammered?? I'm pretty sure I know the difference in finish but which is closer to the original vRS look, assuming in terms of longevity they're as strong as the other?

It says smooth above :P

Yeah, I saw that, thanks, (:finger::P) but I thought it doesn't necessarily mean it''ll be the best looking. Needs be, and all that, bearing in mind this colour is now apparently discontinued.

What the hell are you going to paint with 6 tins, the whole car

Anyone know how good a colour match the Green option is in the Folia Tec Caliper Colour Kit:

Awesome > Folia Tec Caliper Colour Kit

I've been told by our local paint shop that it can produce a good result, but in the illustration it looks a bit "acid" green to me!

Cheers to westallc for taking some money out my wallet for a couple of tins.:P

Anyone have any problem with Hammerite peeling off?

The guys at 'Hammerite' say its not suitable for calipers!

Mines been done for years and i've done plenty of sets, seems to be just fine.
