Lakes camping trip June/July 2009

Featured Replies

Well folks... it's getting near that time again!

So who's up for another camping trip up to the lakes?

I really enjoyed the last one.

Perhaps we could get booked into the same place as the price was reasonable and had decent facilities and not too far to town etc.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions? Might be nice to try somewhere else perhaps.

Think it best to book a date in then we know when to book campsite etc.

Thanks

Phil

Don't forget Paul is organising a 'National' camping meet 26 - 28 june, So imho it would be better later in the season say last weekend in August when most folks will have had their summer hols???

As Andy said above.

Cheers

Davy

I would be up for it

Sounds good.

even through ive organised the camp trip a july/aug/sept area one would be good and me and sinister would be up for that (dates depending). but feel free to come south where its a bit drier (more the merrier), just click camp trip in my siggy.

I forget the guys name, but he's on here, has a pub, just up from Penrith on the Carlisle road, and he has a field attached that he allows camping on... may be fun :) If you're here shout up!

I also agree, put some time between that and the meet Paul arranged

NHKCHEF was his username ;)

The pub was called stoney beck inn and its just off junction 41, M6

Really nice pub aswell, great to sit on the tables by the road and watch the sun set in summer

Id be up for a camping trip, date dependant though :D

Lakes camping is always good.

Hope I can sleep through all the noise again

The national meet is in July, as well as Pauls's meet in Jun, so I guess Aug does sound good. Last weekend is bank holiday which has advantages and disadvantages!

or early september?

Only problem I can see with using a pub's field is that I presume he'd be wanting all the drink to be coming from his bar . . . which I think wouldn't have quite the same atmosphere as sitting around with our own booze.:D

well his cider wont be to the strength me and swmbo are used too. one other question does he have shower rooms at the pub?

I think he'd be ok with us having our own booze on the field, he'll make enough money with the camping ;)

also agree on the dates... maybe the weekend after the Aug bank holiday?

If it's somewhere I can find then yeah I'll prob be in

I'm away the BH weekend so that would fit in with me too.

im off bank holiday week, but if date can be confirmed as i will need to book the monday off so i get time to pack the tent away etc properly at home ;)

  • 2 months later...

bump sharkrider, bump

  • 1 month later...

I'm off Bank Holiday week too, so would suit me if there's room for a little 'un.

  • 2 weeks later...

anyone free 1st week in August?

Might be :)

I probably will be but will double check.

Have you got it in mind to do this on a weekend?

Thanks

Phil

whats the first week in August like, if it's the 7th to the 9th I can't make it due to being a usher at a wedding, through I might pop down as would only be about 80 miles away if I came down the saturday afternoon.

Davy

Only weekend we have free is the bank holiday at the end :(

Thats just bloody silly isn't it!

Although saying that... not sure what our availability will be like and it maybe a bit hard to make a date early on in August due to Sven needing to get his Uni portfolio in that month so the bank holiday would probably be better for us actually... could stay an extra night too!

Have charged me old car battery up anyway to run the fairy lights again. Hehe

same here as swmbo's friends christning etc, however the bank holiday weekend we are free and the following week, also have the white horse camp meet which swmbo showed you the pictures of on the 11-13 september (busy camp meets this year lol).
